neat story, reminds me of the lost dutchman. what was the source of the story? did they use the letters to the sister as a source, or the saloon friends testimony? a lot of these stories are just made up folklore used to entertain people and fabricated from bits of other stories.

It’s possible that the tree grew over the mining pick. But if it grew so much it could have covered it or made it not very visible. I got an umbrella tree in the back yard that split in the center. So we drilled a one inch hole and hammered a one inch rod through. We used a chain come a long and cable to suck the tree together first. The tree as it grew over grew or grew into the cable of the chain come a long. I know umbrella trees grow faster than pine trees, but it’s amazing how a tree grows over something. If the tree isn’t by a rode and not cut down for fire wood you might could go metal detecting pine trees hahaha if ya knew the general hill or area.

I’ll have to look on a map. Do you know where his ranch was? I’ve spent a few hours on an Arizona website and there are chunks of private land north of the Grand Canyon. Sadly Biden made another large monument by the Grand Canyon. It’s like land simply being public land ensures there’s no subdivisions etc so it’s already pretty conserved. I lived in Delaware and wow the development is everywhere and no conservation. It’s interesting Biden never made a large monument or park east of Colorado. No land acquisitions. They said they were wanting to go from owning 25% of all the land to owning 30%. If they bought just 5% east of Colorado that’d be a ton of new monuments and parks.

I watched an interview with a researcher or author who talked about an outlaw who lived around Laramie or Rawlins in the early 1900s that could throw a peach can in the air and shoot it all six times with the Six-Gun before it hit the ground, and how this man went to the state prison there for killing someone and ended up dying there and the autopsy revealed he had something like 20 bullet wounds throughout his body, The man's wife also passed away their as she was climbing the steps of either the local courthouse or the post office and it was found that she had tens of thousands of dollars in cash sewn up in the sequences of the dress that she was wearing when she passed away, The man being interviewed said that he believed these people wore the Sundance kid and Edna place. I can't find that interview again I don't remember the author's name

Tinaja is a water storage barrel made of clay or in Baja California also means the holes in granite stones where the Indians would grind acorns…these small holes fill with water & saved us once when lost in Baja, in the 1990’s. Mentioned that the acorn grinding holes were said to be named this by an American that was familiar with the mountain range… and led us to there when we were lost, to find water. I don’t know if Mexicans use this word for the holes or if the location was called “tinaja” because it had a spring behind a boulder, that trickled water.

A couple of things. Two men that didn't know the kid but had his description were posted at the outer door yet let a stranger walk right past them into the house. A man that reportedly was a darker complexion and a beard and suggested to be half Mexican. It's well know that the kid spoke Spanish but English was his first language as was the person he was there to see. So, why would he say in Spanish to Pete Maxwell "quien es, quien es". Doesn't seem logical to me.

  • @badguy1481

One can see, in several of the screen shots, the "hooked X". The "hooked X" was an "X" with a slanted line attached to the upper right hand stroke of the "X". This symbol was only RECENTLY discovered, by later day scholars, but is NOW known to have been used by the Knights Templar and the Cistercian monks, a Catholic order associated with the Templars. There were many Cistercian monetaries on the Island of Gotland, near Sweden, in the Baltic Sea. And since it likely that very few Goth's, at the time, were knowledgeable enough to carve those runes, it is likely they had a Cistercian monk in their party that did the carving. Although the Swedish farmer DID have a book on runes in his home, it is my understanding this symbol was not included in that book. I suggest that the presence of the "hooked X" on that stone may be "conclusive" evidence that that stone and its carvings are legitimate.

Brushy Bill was a liar, but so was pat garret who lied to preserve the reputation of Paulita Maxwel who was anybody's dog that would hunt with her, the truth is Billy was shot in the back during an intimate moment with her that left her with an abdominal scar, and later a daughter called Gringa Retardo, in English this means white with developmental disabilities, who would later commit suicide, After Billy was killed a blood stained mattress was burned the morning after in the yard. John Poe was sent to purchase a new one that morning, and Pauline was not at Billys wake or burial because she was bandaged and bleeding. The story that was told later was all a version to erase the fact that Garett back shot Billy during coitus and kept the Maxwells from enduring the shame of their girl being the ranch bicycle, these are documented historical facts. That Mattress purchase the morning after is all anyone needs to think about, that and that no one gets shot at close range and hangs on to a pistol in one hand and a knife in the other, or that shooting someone standing causes the bullet to travel from the lower back up to the heart, that happens when someone is prone shot in the back and busy. Adella was Billy’s daughter, After William Bonney’s death in 1881, Paulita Maxwell married José Felix Jaramillo on January 14, 1883. They had three children, but he was abusive, and she eventually left the marriage. Jose often punched her bullet scarred belly and is believed to have forced himself on Adella who killed herself at the age of 16. “There was no use chasing him in that country with the start he had,” Garrett later said. “I waited until I thought he would reach his sweethearts at the Maxwell ranch house, and-I got him. Paulita said,” They asked my brother Pete why the Kid was in Fort Sumner, he shook his head and said he did not know., but he merely wanted to save Garrett the embarrassment. He knew., and I knew. I was standing beside his chair at the time and would have answered the question if Pete, with a look, had not warned me to keep my mouth shut." Also, fun fact about Garret's story is the floor plan of the old US Army officers' quarters that was then after the Maxwell house, shows no exterior door to Pete’s room. To this day no one has ever been able to explain the military officer's mattress purchase in the expense report submitted by John W Poe Ask yourself if you believe a shot from a .44 at close range in the back would mean you could hang on to a pistol and a knife and the bullet path would go from the lower back and then shoot up towards the heart. How does someone enter a room where no door exist? Why spend the night barricaded in a room in fear, unless you have done something cowardly and wrong wounding a pregnant girl in process. Did you know that Poe ended up being Sheriff the following year and that Garrett named his son after Poe?
