Each time I’ve had a fall, I immediately evaluate what could make it better. Little giant has a superb four step stool. Use it for books and plants until it’s needed. The last time I didn’t have arm strength to lift to get to sit on bottom step. So….use a wedge. A ramp. An inclined plane -butt skootch to the bottom step. To test the theory, I used a thick piece of plywood which I secured so it wouldn’t slip. Works great. If you can turn in the bed, you can do butt skootch. We can’t wait for needed equipment to show up in a catalog-it’s not there, it’s not coming. When I make this wooden wedge, I’ll use dollar store rubberized shelf paper to prevent slipping. Having it handy, I can walk up to a high storage shelf, or clean refrigerator top. Walk up, don’t climb. Good ideas you have here, but show us some rails or trapeze wedge to reach for. Help is on the way. Things will grow exponentially. Mobility impairments will be a relic of the past.

Excellent. You have the right ideas, but we need to do more. Seth is a big handsome guy, upper body strength to burn. But …what caused the tip over? By the time all that happened, he or she might be too weak to complete the tasks of getting the chair up, and getting in the futon. The problem is lack of design. czcams.com/users/shortsxAhrrO7aQzY?si=cS-c5MXRuUcoWtAm Furniture could be assistive. We have to do things on our own. Help is not on the way. We have to create it. Where we see things, it’s cost prohibitive. Medical deduction, yes, but need to wait to see the benefit. Can make it better using our own shared knowledge. Buy select hardwood, use carriage bolts, pvc pipe, devise a trapeze grip. The standing thing can look like a floor lamp, or a plant stand, but it’s an SOS pole. Go in with somebody for the parts. At the least, make more than one, many people need it. We ain’t in kindy-garden with design. Dark Ages. Theres startup money with the Biden Plan, no excuses now.

Here is information on the Wheelchair Skills Test.
