Wat Santi Khiri, also known as Phrathat Chedi Srinagarindra Stit Maha Santi Khiri in Mae Salong. It is a modern Lanna-style chedi, located atop a hill at an elevation of 1,500 meters. It was built in honor of the late Princess Mother, Princess Srinagarindra in 1996 and there is a statue of her likeness inside the temple. This structure is elegantly visible from afar and marks an important symbol of Doi Mae Salong. I love the road leading up to here, bit steep but paved well. Boon Soong historic iron bridge in Takua Pa, an old tin mining town in Phang Nga Province. @@GoranBMWOverlander I live down in that valley when you look west from the view point, on the 1174. Unlike people in town, my nearest mountains are to the east. I go over Phaya Phipak and on to Phu Chi Fa, Phu Chi Dao, Phu Chi Duan, Pha Mon and Pha Tang.
Yes, I looked up 1174 on the map, not far at all. I guess you must be one of only few farangs in that area. I must say again, I love Phuket, the place I live, but my other favorite Thailand province is Chiang Rai.

Next time!
We almost went down just outside of Pai. From CM made it all the way to Pai Canyon on our CBR300R, 2 up. Heading down from the Canyon, road looked good, then noticed what I though was water on the road. Like to keep my bike clean, so started to cross over to the other lane to avoid it, then noticed it was desiel fuel, about 5 to 10 gallons, must have been just spilled on the roadway. My wheels just caught the edge of the spill, started to feel the bike slip, then was out of it. Very close call for us. Always on the lookout for the stuff now.
Always be careful, you never know what could happen on Thai roads. Even most of the experienced riders get into trouble here at least once in a lifetime.
Do not know how I missed this one. Yes, one of my favorites, you feel like you are flying on the part that runs along the ridge. Well done.

Can you confirm that the route to the waterfall can be done on a motorcycle? What is the condition of the road from the National park turn off
No, it is not allowed. The park management doesn't allow bikes up. You have to leave the bike at the park office and board pick-up truck. . It had been like this since....forever.
