Bruh I got spoilered fr by watching too much RDR content
Sure they didn’t planned a character named Arthur Morgan back in 2010, but rdr2 is an explanation to why rdr1 happened
Maybe why John never told Arthur was because Arthur said something that made him never bring up the past again, namely "Keep your head up and never look back" That was the moment Arthur told John that he was on a mission to destroy the bridge. and it was approaching the ending which made me not believe that someone as loyal as Arthur would be betrayed and used as a walking weapon by Dutch. If you think again, when Arthur started to not believe in Dutch, Arthur remained loyal, but before Arthur died on that hill. Arthur let out everything he had been holding back. Arthur is the best main character. This is what I think
They didn't talk about Arthur in rdr 1 because rockstar games didn't even planned about rdr 2 at the time they were making rdr 1... use your brain sometimes...
“Arthur he saved us didn’t he?” “You remember that time?” “Not much I was only little.” “Ughh he did save us yeah, none of us would be here today if it wasn’t for Arthur. But your Pa don’t like talking about him, ain’t that right John?” “The past is gone we left that behind.”
I can’t lie, Abigail legit pissed me off after saying that, Tf you mean “your father don’t like to talk about him any more” after you literally just glorified him to jack! How ungrateful she made john look in front of his son, literally made me ride up to Arthur’s grave sight right after this conversation and gave him a gun salute with my Lancaster repeater, then I went and played poker for three days straight, something ik would piss off anyone’s wife lol
He needed to be said: "OHHHH, I HATE THAT RABBIT!!!🐇!!!"😂😂😂
Because he didnt even exist in 2010
Arthur: **Being one of the best cowboys to ever cowboy in the RDR universe** John: "That was a bad time. I don't like talking about it." John when he sees any of the past NPCs Arthur has influenced: "Arthur was a good man, he saved my life." In the words of Arthur: "Just do one thing or the other, don't try to be two people at once"
Best Game ever
This is why the “going back for the money” option is best imo. John certainly acts as though that’s what Arthur did. At least when it comes to Abigail and Jack. He mentions Arthur to everyone else any time he gets a chance. Even when it doesn’t make sense. The “I saved us a little bit, too” line makes it extremely hard to like John. Can’t lie. Had it not been for Arthur, John wouldn’t be alive. Had it not been for John, Arthur would’ve been fine. Sick, but fine. Arthur is so much more than just the past being the past. I get they had to have a reason why he was never mentioned in the first game, but I think a better way to go would’ve been John making it known that it hurts talking about Arthur. Simple and effective.
Alright then. I’ll leave you to it. You’re a guud girl.
I didn't cry at all when Arthur dies. It was just depressing and I had it coming miles away since he first caught TB. Then the epilogue came, three hours in playing as John really messes with me on how much I really missed Arthur, and I started crying hard because of that. Arthur is just like most of us, trying our best to be good but life isn't just good sometimes, at the end he did his best.
Finished rdr1 today after playing rdr2 a few years ago. This scene hurts so much because John says "Our past, left it behind", but in rdr1 John's past catches up to him...tears man...
Kind of bad writing in my opinion, Arthur had such a major impact on the story then once he dies and jumps right into John’s story like that, it’s very jarring and abrupt. And then to not hardly mention him or stand on any ceremony for him even though Arthur saved all their lives is pretty dumb
John: th past is gone, we left that behind Also John: COME OUT MICAH!!!
My grandpa passed away recently and me and my family don’t mention him too often because it makes us emotional. But we think about him everyday and I constantly do things that would’ve made him proud. So even though Arthur wasn’t thought of yet before the first Red Dead, John’s reason for not mentioning him is very valid
We all know the reason he isn't mentioned is because he wasn't conceived of as a character yet. But in my head canon it makes sense that he isn't mentioned anyway. Those events were over ten years ago, and remembering/talking about Arthur would be pointless and painful. Johns already dealt with all of it and moved on, he just wants to protect his family now. And Jack was too young to properly remember Arthur as anything other than a face in his memory.
✌️ "Promosm"
How did you avoid your video from being blocked 🚫 With all the copyrighted music? 🤔 My video was blocked because of the music
Me 2!!!!
THIS LITERALLY TAKES ME IMMEDIATELY BACK TO MY ELEMENTARY & MIDDLE SCHOOL DAYS ON THE LIBRARY COMPUTERS PLAYING THE HELL OUT OF THE OREGON TRAIL!! BUYING THIS SHIT RIGHT NOW! 🥳🍻
riiiiight. but why are you yelling?
If Arthur didn’t die, john would have to kill him in rdr1
"The past is gone We left that behind" Goes back to kill micah
The reason he's not mentioned in RDR1 is simply because he wasn't conceived as a character in RDR1, it's only during the development of prequel that is RDR2 we got Arthur, if RDR1 had happened to be after RDR2 we could have gone more references
It makes sense Arthur isn’t mentioned. Both John and Dutch are too sad over his death to ever talk about him. John lives up to Arthur by becoming the mature man he is in RDR1.
Arthur is mentioned in a newspaper in RDR1 right
Nope
Reasons why he aint mentioned: 1. He said to not look back 2. He never existed in rdr1 3. John is trying to forget his outlaw status so mentioning Arthur would mean the memories of him being an outlaw would come back 4. Arthur wasn't an idea back then
Yeah Arthur wasn’t created in RDR1 but RDR2 gave a reason why. Arthur’s sacrifice was too painful for John and Dutch. John and Dutch never talk about Arthur because his ending was too painful for both of them.
Cuz Arthur is the biological father of Jack lol
How is this game? I was thinking of trying it out
Love the brawl halla videos bro
Arthur is the only reason why I never start a new game. I don't want him (and me) to go through everything all over again. I still miss him and his horse to this day.
Yes John… the past is gone… but that doesn’t justify forgetting the person that made it possible to be where you were… which is alive for one
Arthur wanted them to restart to lives not go back to their old ones. John is never wanted to recapture the gang life, he simply wanted to live the simple life with his family both in RDR1 epilogue and RDR2.
The reason he doesn't talk about Arthur is cause Arthur didn't exist at the time of RD1. The creators of the series didn't think of him yet. They made a huge fleshed out backstory for RD1 years after they made it and had to try and make the games connect. Anything anyone claims as the reason why John doesn't discuss Arthur is strictly head-canon.
yeah I am surprised people can't even think the reason why he isn't mention is because arthur was never thought of in rdr1.
i'd play low honor john if it mentioned arthur once
RDR2 wasn’t planned as a prequel when the game started development. So Arthur wasn’t planned to be a character in RDR1 not even as a honorific mention. and therefore he was created for RDR2. There was an article of one of the devs talking about it in an interview, I just could t find it again.
My booty itches
John : the passed is gone, we left that behind Also John : ITS JOHN MARSTON MICAH !!!!
keep up the good work bro!
that's just amazing

well that conversation sounded natural...if you're three random strangers that have no idea what each of the others are talking about...
Well the real explenation is obviously the fact that Red Dead Redemption II is a prequel. But a good in-game and lore explenation could be this. Although I think it is easy for everyone to understand that If Rockstar released a Red Dead Redemption remake Arthur would be mentioned many times as well as other gang members and events.
Or maybe he just wasn't a character then💀
The reason John doesn't talk about Arthur in RDR 1 is... SIMPLE... Arthur wasn't created by Rockstar yet at that time.
wow, what a piece of shit to just forget someone who saved your entire family's life.
Obviously he didn’t forget about him if he took out a whole mountain of outlaws to avenge him
Why does John say that Arthur was a bad man to Mickey (the fake soldier who lost an arm near the Valentine train station) ? And even here, it's as if Arthur wasn't so important.
He says he was good and bad. Which is true because even if he did help a few people at the end, that doesn’t make up for everything he had done in the last 20 years
Arthur isn't mentioned in RD1 because the character wasn't thought of yet.....🙄
Arthur wasn’t mentioned in rdr1 cause he wasn’t even created in 2010 😭
Or maybe because arthur morgan didnt exist at the timewhen rdr was made. But this makes sense too that john doesnt mention him because he wants to leave the past behind.
I think it is because rdr2 was made after rdr1, so rockstar hadnt created arthur yet
