I was diagnosed with BPD well into my 20s. And it was devastating. It took almost half a year to get a stationary treatment that specialises on BPD. I now have learned to live with the diagnosis and my symptoms. Trying to imagine how I would have reacted if I was diagnosed as a teen is terrifying. Though I do think that the things I've learned in therapy about emotions, regulation of stress and intense emotions, communication methods and balancing out harmful assumptions about myself and others was helpful and might be beneficial for teens. So I can see why people would promote an early diagnosis to get teenagers help. Though I don't agree I can understand. Maybe an elective class could be a better solution. Giving students the opportunity to learn without the stigma
I had a friend who was diagnosed with BPD at a young age and this is definitely true for her! She completely identifies herself with this disorder and is stuck in the victim role..

I never felt like I fit in with people, I try to do things like ding makeup buying clothes and such onto fit in. But even though I get compliments it didn't change anything I still felt lost

Thank you for this, and especially thank you for speaking about the disconnect/dissociation aspect aspect of all of this. This is an area that lots of folks- profesional and public- seem to shy away from because of fear and misuderstanidng. Thank you once again :)
Awesome video, thanks for sharing.
