Having had ongoing issues with the gearbox and it leaking both from the shaft seal and what we thought was a leak from the oil pump seal, I decided to bite the bullet and replace the box. it transpired the oil pump casting was porous too.

Love ❤️
It may have only 15 horsepower but it probably has insane amount of torque...
To my eyes a lot of them have been over restored I never remembered blue planks.
Did you take yours? 🤗
What undercoat did you use?
We used the craft master range
Gotta' love it !!
Lovely ! Cudda heard a bit more of it !
Bolinder made some beautiful engines. I have a friend with an old sawmill driven by a Bolinder hot bulb engine. He also has a couple of volvo tractors with Bolinder engines. They all work well.
The dog was happy that it started!
Lol, yes he loves his boating
Captured in action - twice!
Beautifully sounding engines I have an Ailsa Craig engine in Gorse
Thank you, lve just subscribed to your channel :)
It's so lovely to see these old bolts still going

Hi, thank you. We used craftmaster paints
1054s aren't light are they! I looked ato ne for my current build. E Type is far nicer
The Manitou was at its limit with the alarm screaming.

your welcome idol goodluck on your channel Keep on dreaming that's all we need for now
It would make so much sense to include the price in your advert nobody can buy unless they know what the boat costs.
great work!..is this in the UK?
Thank you. Yes its England
That's fabulous can you tell me which boat it is in and is the engine from an Irish canalboat?
Hi Nick, thank you. The boat is Ironsides and yes the engine originated from a Guinness boat in Ireland.
@@JourneysByNarrowboat thanks for catching me up I didn't know this had happened. Is this the only E type on the British canal system? I have a working boat too and now have considerable engine envy. Well done though really great hope to see it some day
@@nickdavis3918 There are a few none running E types here. But yes its currently the only installed and running E type.
Hi, the boat is called Ironsides. The engine originated from a Guinness Barge in Dublin. Found in an English barn when it was stored for many years.
Looks beautiful Mark 😍
Yes, it was a nice day
Looks amazing wow
It was a lovely dry, crisp day.
Thanks for sharing, at least not “Frozen In” today!
Thank you for watching
How beautiful! xx
Thank you.Its crisp and dry here. X
Excellent Video John, thanks for sharing!
Taking kickstarting to a new level 🤣🤣🤣
I’d go a step further than this. I’m currently in Panama where the huge seat/humidity combined with the main diesel tank inside the keel, where it’s much cooler, has overcome the diesel treatment I was using with a lot of condensation. Sure, the previous owner might’ve chosen a pre-filter when installing a new Volvo engine, but he didn’t. My bad, too, that I wasn’t able to refuel on arrival but that’s history now. Short term, I need to get my hands on a Racor filter/separator, a 200L/hr electric pump to match, pulse a cleanable strainer to catch the worst stuff at the start. After finally getting that sorted, I could well install the same Racor filter/separator as a pre-filter that I can keep an eye on - or I might assemble all these bits inside a milk crate to drag out for routine checks. In any case, diesel fuel tanks aboard boats are always at risk of this - and pro polishing people might not be readily at hand.
Making your own system is the best way to go. Its not too hard to put together and is 100% invaulable for the life of your diesel lift-pumps, injector pumps, injectors and engine in general no matter where in the world you are.
Is it legal in Britain to use red diesel for pleasure boats, here in France it's not allowed.
Hi, yes its legal for leisure craft
Nice short video , has given me more confidence to paint my own boat now Thanks 👍
Thank you for taking the time to comment. All the best with your painting.
You make it look so easy. Excellent work!
Thank you. Its a lot to do with confidence and having a go
Thank you
Well worth the cost in my case
Me too with the increasing costs of diesel. Im certainly going to replace the O ring seal frequently
Where’s Yoda when you need him. Little green slacker!
Hi Cam, just managed to get the boat in before Eunice arrived.
@@JourneysByNarrowboat good timing. We are sheltered on a stretch of the Llangollan. Boat isn’t moving an inch as we are out of the wind.

Thank you. The terrace has long gone now.
Iv painted cars out side anything is possible great work
Thank you
is there another vid showing the finished project?
Hi. There will be when the sign writer is available
guessing the rust wasnt treated before the foam was applied.
Hi, it would of been sprayed directly on to the original paint finish.
👍👌🇨🇦❤
Looking good, lots of luck with her. Hate the platform... Puppies name??
Thank you :) Yes. It now looks far better without it and handles better too.
How long is your boat?
Hi, its 45ft

Nice to see to in action Mark!
Lol. Thank you Cam.
What a perfect size. Love it.
Next time you do a paint job tell your brush man to flip the brush with each stroke this stops build up of paint on one side of the brush and gives a better finish
