Thanks for the walk through on the Kit Drums. Based upon your recommendations, I went ahead and purchased it for the intro price. I do have one question: is the plugin resizeable? I'm using Studio One Pro v6.6 and the plugin takes up most of the space where it is almost hard to reach the bottom tabs. Thanks!

We wanted to share a bit about why we created this platform and what it’s designed to do for you. KIT Drums, along with Connor Denis’s library, isn't here to compete with the all-in-one platforms like Superior Drummer. Instead, we noticed a gap between pre-mixed libraries that offer limited control and the more complex platforms that can be challenging for less experienced writers and producers who need a quick, workflow-friendly tool. Connor’s library is the first in our series and is built around his unique style and sound. Known for his work with Beartooth, this pack includes some heavily processed, hard rock presets. However, Connor is a versatile artist, so we’ve also included a variety of other presets that cover different styles, including completely raw sounds that you can shape and customize to fit your vision.

Own and love KIT plugins, but this is a stray off into weird lands and wasting time and resource on iffy result. Wish KIT kept doing plugs they're best at and left drums to the peeps who're best at them. Instead of this, we could have a really great plug from KIT, a custom console, recording rooms, maybe a custom tape even.

These.... aren't it. I'm sorry. If you're gonna come out with a drum library you need to compete. Mixwave, GGD, Bogren Digital etc... I don't even think this is as good as the demo for Addictive Drums. I mean this in the kindest way. I love KIT plugins and own most of them. I won't be grabbing this kit though. A shame

I don't know if this demo or what, but EZDrummer 3 sounds better than this. The mixwave stuff, BB drums, tons of better options from what it sounds like so far

I love kit plugins, but those drums don’t sound good. And whoever did the mix over compressed and/or over limited it.

How does it sound compared to Lindell 50 and the UAD channel strip

Excellent concise and informative as usual, thanks Joe, have a couple of their earlier, would be interesting to compare to the Lindell version of API from Plugin Alliance

Having used it only a little bit something KIT may want to address is how the workflow is implemented. Its fixed frequencies so there is no real need for me to click and drag to select those. And if I have the eq set to stepped I don't see why I have to click and drag to do my boost and cuts. There is a lot to like with this, but other companies make similar products that have a faster workflows.

Overhead mics are a love/hate issue for me. The kick is in the right channel, which when combined with the actual kick and snare, gives you a smeared stereo image. This drives me nuts.

I'm really skeptical about these kind of comparisons because I always think that we, as listeners, kinda get tricked to think that the plugin sounds the same as the real deal. In this case, to my ears, the difference is clear. You can notice that on the Neve console, the drums sound like one instrument. Maybe it's the way the distortion works that glues the sound magically together. Not to mention the overall warm sound the Neve adds. When the plugin kicks in, the first thing I noticed is the separation of the pieces. Sounds like individual instruments played at the same time. The transients are a little sharper and maybe a little louder too. With that said, the plugin is great.

The Console has a little more air, but otherwise very close. That being said, I doubt I could pick it out in a blind test. There’s more variability in the performance than there is difference in the plug-in vs console

When will there be more Blackbird plugins?

I love the plugin, but I have noticed it is a bit dull in the highs and missing a kind of air that I have found in other Neve plugins like the Lindell 80 channel. I find it super interesting that I'm finding it here again in this comparison with the console. Lows and mids seem beautifully captured. But the highs and “air” is duller in the plugin. Maybe a V3 will address this? I hope so because it is a great plugin.

OMGsh, that compressor attack time BPM trick was worth this whole video for me! So simple! How have I never heard that before!?!? lol

I think the big difference is phasing between the console channels. Console sounds more open and 'magickally spacious'. Plugin sounds like a single channel of real hw tho.

Yea the bbn does sound a little better…oddly….the console sounds a lot brighter….the plugin has a phat ass lowend…I could put on an eq to try to match the comsole but why bother when the plugin is even more 🔥

I love it! The snare sounds more open on the console right out the gate. Plugin sounds a little fuller in low mids with the whole mix but console sounds more open overall. I have the plugin and I love it, would love to use it on this style music in the video compared to rock where I use SSL style plugins, but I will do a cover with the BBN-105 plugin on my next recording :) Keep doing what you're doing, all your products sound great :)

I demoed Core Comp and I like it on everything. My only concern about it is that this is one of those compressors that might distort when you have a very fast release. I think on putting this plugin in my go to list.

When you released BB N 105 an one year subscription was included. Where is the subscription, where the plugins? Instead of keeping your word, you mail some nerving special price deal every week.

Is this a fair comparison - doesn't the Body control add in a low-shelf EQ?

So is the BB N105 modeled after a single channel strip off the console? If so will there be a future update where every channel is modeled and each instance loaded will upload the next channel over? Will you guys eventually model the bus channels of the console? Would love to place an emulation of that on group channels to feed my N105 channels into.
