The VMS software runs on a Windows based machine at the facility where the cameras are installed. There is a free remote viewing client application called Edge Recording Manager that a customer can use to view from their desktop/laptop. We also have a free cloud portal called GV-Cloud where you can point your VMS to the GV-Cloud website so a customer can remotely view live video and video recorded to the VMS machine through a web browser.

Yes this can be a little tricky. One thing I would recommend trying is going into the VMS software and manually turning off all network services. Then go to the Startup menu in VMS and uncheck all of the network services and the option to auto-run VMS upon Windows startup. After you do that, exit the VMS and restart the machine. There are two methods for saving a short clip. I have linked below. Please note that sending a clip via email may not be possible because of the file size. What you may have to do is either put the file on a thumb drive to give to police or upload the file to a share site such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc and then give them the link. You cannot installed Remote Viewlog on a Mac but in May of 2024 GeoVision released v1.3.1 of Edge Recording Manager for Mac. You may try upgrading to that version for the best experience. ERM for Mac does allow you to review playback footage within the program.

@@GeoJoe1 Will i be able to review remotely using ERM? I tried installing but I didnt understand how to setup. I ran the scan to see if it will find the cameras but nothing came up in the list. I assumed ERM is to be use only if you are on the same network.

@@lateracooper6466 Yes, you can use ERM to remotely view from outside the local network but you will need to do port forwarding. You will be able to view live and playback footage once you do port forwarding. Are you using our VMS software on the recorder? If so, an alternative option is you can create a free GV-Cloud account and point your VMS to GV-Cloud. This would allow you to open a web browser on your Mac without having to do any port forwarding and then you can view live/playback footage from your VMS system in the Cloud webpage for no fees. You would need to go into the Settings and look for Group Management. In that section, it allows you to configure how many cameras display per page.

Yes, it does. The QR Code scan method allows you to remotely view without having to open ports on your router. This works if you are on a remote network and not on the same internal network or WiFi.

Hey Matthew! The GV-TMS8800 is great for hallway applications for example. It gives you two straight on 90 degree angle of views as opposed to a 180 degree panoramic view. The 180 degree cameras don't work very well mounted in narrow hallways. They work best mounted on the exterior wall of a building or on the wall in a large open space such as a warehouse, manufacturing plant, gymnasium, etc.

The Remote Viewlog service in your VMS software (if you are using VMS software) may be disabled, the user account you are using on GV-Eye may not have permission for playback, etc. There are many things this could be. Hello. This is going to depend on what option was selected when the user saved the video. If they did not click the correction option, it won't play back in a Windows Media Player or VLC. It may be a good idea for you to go to your NVR or your remote viewing software and do the Save as AVI again with the procedure shown on the video links below. Hello - I have seen this happen to one customer before. It ended up being a corrupted install of the VMS but we were able to easily fix it. Try to find the install utility for the VMS and then just run it again. Once you run it, the setup wizard will prompt you with a window that says something like "Restore/Reinstall" (I believe it will be the default bubble that is selected). Just make sure that is selected, hit next through the prompts and finish the "install". If that doesn't fix it, I would suggest to do a full uninstall of the VMS and then reinstall it from scratch. GeoVision's VMS can be loaded on any Windows based system. If your Dahua NVR runs Windows OS, you can install VMS on it.

Hello. I apologize I missed this comment initially. If this happens, open up the ASManager folder and look for the ASDBManager file. Run that and it should prompt you to create a login. If it does not, I would recommend completely uninstalling the program and reinstalling it.

In this case, I would recommend using our Edge Recording Manager remote viewing software in place of Multiview. This is the new generation remote client viewing software. I do have multiple videos here on my page showing this software if you'd like to see it.

Hello. Yes, you can achieve this. What you would do would be to just add both machines into the GV-Eye app. For the old DVR, you would just manually add its IP address in GV-Eye instead of the QR Code scan option shown in this video. Please note that the QR Code feature is only available in the GV-VMS software and not the GV-NVR (Multicam) software. Have you installed the GV-VMS for the new IP machine? If you are using GV-VMS, in the top right you would click the wrench icon and then click the Network icon (2nd from the left). You would then click on Mobile Service. When the window comes up, click QR Code and hit "Start" in the bottom right corner. Then you would go back into the Network icon, click Mobile Service again to see the QR Code after you have started the service and you can then scan it in GV-Eye.

GV-Eye is our mobile app. You can connect this camera to SNVR units and then view it in GV-Eye if that is what you are wanting to do.

When I have been creating the demo videos, my PC is an i5 processor. For ERM, you really only need an i5 processor or an i7 processor. 11th gen is fine. If you are seeing lag in the video, that could be related to your network. Your upload speed at the site where the NVR is located may not have enough speed to upload the cameras or the download speed at the site you have ERM may not have fast enough download speed. I work with many customers and have not seen a lag with the ERM program unless it is network upload/download speed related.

There is not really a way to do this. If you Exit the VMS, it stops recording because VMS is the software that records your cameras. There is an option in the Startup window where you can have VMS startup and hide in the system tray. This may be a good option for you as it will have the VMS minimized.

Yes, the cameras with the built-in LPR engine perform at a much higher accuracy percentage. These units have a deep learning LPR engine which our HQ has trained by feeding various plate images. When mounted and installed following the guidelines in our manual, you can expect to achieve around 95% accuracy, possibly higher on plate recognition.

Hello. That camera is a very early generation camera so I cannot find documentation on it anymore. I believe if you pull the dome cover off, you should find a reset button. It will either be a tiny black button on top of the lens itself or it may be a pinhole reset slot near where the ethernet cable plugs into the camera.

You have two options. 1) You would need to do port forwarding on your router and then when you enter the IP address into the app, you would need to use the external IP address of your recorder or 2) You can use the QR code scan option within GV-Eye. This method does not require port forwarding and can allow you to view cameras when you are on the local network and the external network.

Nicholas - I have often seen this if the AS2120 is not on the latest firmware. Can you ensure your AS2120 is on v2.50 firmware? Also, after you upgrade the firmware on our control panels, you need to format the SD card. I’m using the GV-EFD2100 and the website shows there’s no firmware at all for it, so do I just go ahead and carry on with everything else or do I try to find the firmware for it?
