United States
Registrace 4. 04. 2013
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers is the fastest growing conservation organization on the continent. We were founded around a campfire in Oregon, we’re headquartered in Missoula, Montana, and we have chapters all over North America. Our members love the peace, challenge, solitude, tradition and freedom that only backcountry lands and waters can provide.
Backcountry Hunters & Anglers members share a common bond: a passion for the forests, mountains, prairies and waters that support our chosen way of life. We come from across North America. Some of us are urban, others rural, But we all know that our freedom to hunt and fish depends on healthy habitat and abundant public access opportunities.

Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge Fence Removal Recap
On June 29 and 30, a group of 15 BHA volunteers and 8 US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) employees removed 3 miles of barbed wire fence from the Charles M. Russell National Wildlife Refuge (CMR) in Phillips County, Montana. The fence ran across the middle and southern end of the Rock Creek drainage just east of the Slippery Ann Elk Viewing Area. This is prime elk and mule deer habitat in the iconic Missouri Breaks!
We had a great turnout for the event, including a group of college students all the way from Clemson University in South Carolina. We also had a ton of support from the USFWS and the CMR on this one. They provided the equipment and expertise to get the job done efficiently.
On Saturday night, we enjoyed an assortment of wild game around the campfire. This included fried Missouri River catfish, deer sausage/bison liver jambalaya and feral goat brats from Hawaii. After dinner (and a few beers), one of the BHA volunteers brought out his fiddle and played some old timey tunes in the natural amphitheater of a cut-bank on the Missouri River. It was quite a show!
It was truly inspiring to see this gathering of BHA volunteers and federal employees, and the commitment to wildlife and habitat that we share. I’m not sure that we will be able to reproduce this one, but we will certainly give it shot next year when we continue this important stewardship work. Many thanks to all that participated!

Corner Crossing Explained by Hank Patterson

We’ve partnered with Hank Patterson to draw attention to the "Corner Crossing" issue. While Hank's wit and sarcasm perfectly highlights some of the ridiculousness of the situation, we can all agree the issue of public land access is no laughing matter. Public land access is a cornerstone of our outdoor heritage, providing access and opportunity for all to hunt, fish, and enjoy our shared wild s...

The Voice for Our Public Lands, Waters, and Wildlife

The campfire flared and popped, the undulating light casting crisp shadows across the seven faces gathered around it. The faces were somber yet resolute. There had been a lot of talk about loss, habitat destruction on favorite mountains, pollution of beloved waters. But a high note was rising through it all. On that March evening of 2004 in the southern Cascade foothills outside Eagle Point, Or...

Colorado BHA Chapter Fence Pull near Meeker and Maybell CO.
The entire thing is just mind boggling. Never under estimate how petty and pathetic people are. Just allow the corner crossing for Pete sakes.
Looks like trespassing a little bit. Technically they could put up a 15’ high fence that touches their neighbors 15’ high fence and nobody would be able to touch the fence or destroy it? I wonder if anybody else is expected to just give away a piece of their land. I mean nobody would appreciate people walking through or over their backyard. Just depends what side of the fence u r on
Perfect explanation
Glad you think so!
People east if the continental divide are clueless of the value of public lands. They are truly about freedom. Hike into the middle if a wilderness area and you can truly understand how important public land is. I am stuck in this private land hell called Texass now after growing up and spending more than half my life in colorado as well s California. California is more free than texass could ever hope to be because of all the public land.
Yes, this one is way beyond BS, but here in Montana "they" made it a law, and it's way wrong sided.
Bravo 👏
Hank Patterson spreading the good word! What a stud!! hambone baby
great work signed up. keep the videos coming
I have no legal background, but if you're restricting access to the public's resource, it sounds an awful lot like a "taking" situation from a legal standpoint.
Thus ridiculous BS needs to get resolved.
whoever gets the like number to 307... take a moment to like in WY's glory
That's great!!!
Spot on
We pay taxes, we get access!
I guess that makes millions of airline passengers and crew guilty of trespassing?
Not sure if I'm smellin an Emmy or oldman Oscar. But good job.
Nice…👊🏻
Trespassing poaching and theft is rampant on private property adjacent to public land.
Nailed it! Great job guys.
"WELL, NOW I'M GETTIN' A BUTT CHEEK!" 🍑🤣
Dang it! I expected to see Mr Ziffel on green acres.
Excellent. Thannks. Makes me miss Idaho since I moved to Utah. Too hot down here.
Some good tips, thanks for sharing. One thing though, don't grab the saddle horn when getting on. Better to grab a handful of mane.
Very good video. Well done.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great job explaining and showing the process. Answered several of my questions.
Great to hear!
Wholeheartedly agree! ❤
or a couple of rock climbing pulleys ? they aren't heavy or very expensive these days .
I got some huge jackies in my area...
Awesome. I imagine it floats quite well
Great effort, community building, and habitat restoration all in one!
Nice looking pattern going to twist some up . I like the hat , where can I get one ? Thanks for sharing.
Such a wonderful event, had an amazing time! Very much looking forward to the next one in 2024!
I'm very happy the hunters won, rightfully so.
Been cooking my Dutch oven in the ground for years food is excellent
Why? Because some POLITICION decided 5 shots were to many? For what reason? It's sheer stupidity.
It's an absolute garbage law!
And don’t vote for those that want to sell public lands to private interests! <cough> republicans <cough>
Cool you use a Deba knife. :)
First lite gear sucks
I just cant imagine living in a world where corner crossing would be illegal, or at least frowned upon. Its just silly
You and your fuck up show are destroying public land!!! over crowding is a huge problem that that assholes like you, rogan and Haynes give a fuck.
Necesito una licencia adicional para poder casar con arco y ballesta?
I don't understand how the landowner incurred $7mil. in damages?
neither do I
Because he could no longer charge acess to the public land that his property surrounds and the lower property value because he no longer has exclusive acess
@@dogguy8603 True. Greed is a terrible thing.
That was a great video. That looks so good
Sorry but i see the sincere logic of your brother Matt Rinella. These social media hunt outdoor figures, gear companies, and the non profits are some of the biggest threats to public lands. Its a real money machine and what matters to them most is recruitment to keep the machinen gojng so they can sell you and newcomers more gear, more junk, more profit. Please go on youtube and really listen to Matt Rinella.
Great video. Lots of useful tips.
This is the kind of thing you ask when your a kid "is it tresspasing when"
Fantastic -- professional -- to the point. Gordon Ramsay would be proud. I will go hunt tomorrow morning and do the same. I do everything the same with elk shanks -- osso bucco ---the only difference is I put my Dutch in oven for three hours
Cool video. I never bother to debone a cottontail. It’s too small to mess with. I just quarter it, leave the bones in and bake or fry it up in the pan like chicken wings. However this plate in the video L@@KED delicious!!! Julia Child would be proud! Personally and for HIGH heat cooking (350*F-475*F), I’ve substituted canola, safflower, sunflower, corn and every other (unhealthy) “vegetable” oil out of the kitchen with “extra light olive oil.” Extra light is a neutral oil used specifically for high heat cooking. Extra light olive oil is more processed than extra virgin. Extra virgin should never be used in cooking temps above 350*F, as it’s the perfect “low heat” ONLY cooking oil. High heat cooking with the extra light allows the food to taste great and it’s better for the “widow maker” artery in one’s heart.
