Hope and Healing at Home
Registrace 24. 06. 2020
As an artist I am constantly learning to see afresh and as an Art Therapist I desire to introduce others to the healing power of art. Art is transformational on a physical and emotional level. My goal is to populate this channel with videos to reveal and demonstrate that. Demonstrations of Art Therapy directives (a.k.a. prompts or activities), artist and therapist interviews, time lapse videos of my art making, and other inspiring videos will be created and added as time goes on. I do hope you enjoy seeing things in new ways and that you'll follow along and try some new ways to express yourself and experience the transformation that art can bring to your life. If you have any questions or requests please let me know. I am always looking for ways to best help others break free of what binds them and to offer new ways to bring hope and healing into your home, especially through art & faith. Thank you for watching, liking, commenting, subscribing & sharingđ„ł
Bringing the Healing Power of Art Around the World
A Few Lessons from Art Therapy Mission Trips.
Shortly after earning my Master's degree in Art Therapy my professor, Doris Arrington, invited me to join her on a mission trip. On the trip we soaked in the culture and connected with people. We made art, facilitated Art Therapy groups and trained counselors in how they could incorporate the healing power of art into the work they were already doing.
It was fascinating and a little addicting. I joined her for a few other trips and then connected with other groups to bring hope, healing, connection and joy to a variety of populations, ages, and cultures. I also joined Operation Mobilization in Morocco where I got to see how artists making art can lead to powerful conversations and perceptions shifts.
It's such a big world out there and art is so versatile in bridging gaps. I'd love to share more and help you bring the healing power of art into your life, home, and around the world.

(I hope you enjoy the story of the soldier praying with a deck of playing cards in church as much as I did.) How do you make your prayer time personal? How...

A Hexagon Afghan & Discussion of Unity
I like covering playing cards! Im not coming at you in a negative way but giving them meanings is too close to cartomancy I think. There is an old practice of reading playing cards.. i know someone that still does it and these practices are making a come back. The Catholic church brought in pagen practices like Christmas so I'm not sure how I feel about reading them and it coming from a catholic practice. I recently threw out my tarot, new age and occult stuff from my home. Interesting story though! Maybe its too close to home for me lol... I did enjoy this video and have a few playing decks I wasn't sure if I should mess with these days cause of my personal history..maybe! Lol I love using alternet materials for art and junk Journaling. I just signed up for the workshop and was checking out the artists that are teaching.
Oh Iâd never heard of that before and definitely wasnât intending to imply âreading the cardsâ for a meaning, just reusing them as a consistent size material. I enjoy hearing how others use things as prompts. Itâs good to remember that other forces in the world do twist things like cards to have significant meaning that is not from God. Thank you for that reminder and I agree, if there is that going on or if that brings up things from the past where the evil one had a stronger grip on you do whatever you need to break free and keep it far from you. Donât give him any footholds. How wonderful to hear stories of how He redeems, rescues, fights for, and transforms usđ Iâm so glad you enjoyed the lesson and signed up for the âEncounters in Colourâ workshop with Jenna Burne. Itâs going to be amazing.
Oh Iâm so glad you like itâ€
Nice ! Merci de France ! I like the idea, thanks !
How exciting! I want to participate in all of it!

Glad you liked it.
LOL. I'm so behind the times. Just saw this. Jen, you are such a good interviewer.
So glad you like it. Iâm so glad to count you as a friendđ
Miss weaving đ took textile design in college and weaving was definitely time consuming but very therapeutic and soothing. So happy to be able to help you in any way, Jen đâ€ïž wish there is an unending physical journal that just continue to expand so we donât need to buy new ones đ -Claire -Claire
Oh would that be a big journalđ So fun to hear that you took textile design in college. Iâd love to hear more about that.
You had beautifully presented about your trip there. I am honor to have contributed 2 pieces of my artworks into the book. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this chapter of your life and journey. I will do it again if another opportunity arises. đ„°
Oh thank you so much. It was great chatting with you the other day and Iâm looking forward to sharing your work and insights with people soon. I love how God weaves us all together around the word!
So lovely to hang out with you Jen! I hope your listeners are now feeling excited about encountering God through Art Journaling! đ
Oh me too Jenna â€ïž Iâm super excited about making some crowns this week in my âTransformational Studio Timeâ on Patreon and sending them to my nieces and nephews for their birthdays this year. Iâm also really excited about your new course âWild Art, Deep Faithâ and how it will bless and inspire others.
So wonderful to watch and listen. Iâll have to get printing a photo of myself.
@@Holyhopecouk so glad you enjoyed it. Have fun making your crownđ hope youâll share the results with us đ Iâll be working on mine this Monday if you want to join me on Patreon.

Ms Layton has been an inspiration for me since I stumbled across an exhibit of her work in Springfield, MO years ago. Her story is so very interesting. Thank you for sharing it and for your fantastic lesson on contour (meditational) drawing!
She is an inspiration! I'm so glad you enjoyed this.
Thanks for this discussion about âyesâ. I never thought about how my spirit and body align when I focus on a true YES.
