I feel bad for Harry in this scene because he saw his ex-wife with someone else. And it really hurts him. God bless Billy crystal for this role of Harry burns. We all feel like Harry in this situation.
This is one of my favorite movies despite a little bad language. When she’s closing the door of her charming book store for the very last time she pauses and recalls the happy memory of dancing & twirling with her mother and I ALWAYS cry. 😢 I read books all the time to my children and danced around with them to fun songs just like that. Precious memories!🥰

Richard Gere is overrated. He is average-looking, no more. And his Lancelot is rapey and a tratoir. Plus, he’s a terrible kisser. He basically stole King Arthur’s life in this movie (his wife, his sword, his kingdom…). And Guinevere is a fool for choosing a mere knight over the legendary King Arthur. That’s like choosing a burger over steak. She needs her head examined. Even as an old man, King Arthur is still better than Lancelot. So, nice try making Lancelot look better. I hate this movie. It’s terrible.
As I watch this, all I can see is a woman jumping to judgment about his character and showing me red flags from which any man should stay away. I would tell Joe Fox to run, run away, run far away, and do not look back.
Tom Hanks completely ruins this movie!! I could never stand him and he has always had the greasy evil vibe of what he truly is. Imagine what Hugh Jackman or Mark Ruffalo would have done with the part. Well, now that we all found out what 'hanx' does to children from Isaac and the now grown lady on X, movie is just cringe, even moreso that Tom Hanks plays his role as the villain side of himself and there is zero romantic characterization on his par;t he is so miscast we don't have to guess how he got a career in Hollywood now, do we?!

She knew she'd be getting a silly husband and know-it-all patroness, she made the decision that that'd be the lesser evil to being, mocked and very lucky if obe of her siblings might take her in, and in return for a 'comfortable home' she is being as good a wife as she can be, including treating her husband respectfully. Meaning: she far is ahead of Mr Bennett.
They were both at fault. She should have been ready on time and he should’ve expressed his frustration to her privately instead of publicly humiliating her in front of the other four. Follow her into her room, shut the door, and have the argument there.
See her in Kate and Leopold after Leopold gets the part for the butter commercial and she's in the street in front of him going YES and waving her suitcase up in the air. She is even worse in When Harry Met Sally LOL but if you want to see even worse acting watch Madonna in A League of Their Own or Jennifer Garner in Draft Day, trying to find her characte and motivation in front of Kevin Costner LOL; at least Meg Ryan acts, albeit overacts Jennifer Garner is just cringe-worthy even in Alias already she couldn't act
"It's not personal, it's business" That line has always stuck with me every time I've applied for a job and didn't get it or let go from a job because of department cuts. It wasn't personal, it was just business. But like she said it was personal to her and it was personal to a lot of people it affected. I wonder how many companies take that in consideration when they're trying to figure out how to not go in the red and have a healthy bottom line. Was it greed behind that decision or it was it a matter of survival for the remaining people that didn't get let go? I think about that in this current environment of layoffs and closures. Back then the tech world was just getting up and running. AOL and the phrase "You've got mail" was synonymous with the internet. You could say it was the rally cry signifying that the tech world has arrived in silicon valley. 25 to 30 years later it's somewhat gone bust.
I'm a woman but FFS girl, that's no way to behave. If you love someone and it's their big night you focus on them, not you. She was awful to him. What a spoiled brat thing to do. Love is not selfish.

The acting by Hanks is sublime. The flash of pain across his face as he feels the pain of her insult, her words cutting like a sword, is Oscar worthy.
