Two Crews Work Both Ends of the Falls Road Branch
On the eve of Independence Day, the action along the former New York Central Falls Road Branch heated up along with the day's temps as the crew of LB-1 started work at the west end of their line, even sneaking into CSX territory, spotting a boxcar at Regional Logistics in Lockport, NY. After that, they headed east to the other end of the line to swap cars with LB-2 in Brockport, who would then spot a boxcar at Lineage Logistics!

2035 must be stationed in Lockport and 2002 in Brockport. They must have another crew on the eastern end of the operation

@@johnhammer3195 July 13th 2023 is the day the Alco was delivered after being purchased from the Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad. Before that the A&A used a pair of GE center cabs for their freight and excursion runs.

Cor - that's a bit of bumpy old track. I know a Tele-lens exaggerates it, but if I were the Engineer, I'd take it very easy past that Lagoon. Great to watch the Switching Ops. and seeing the Track and Factory Layout. Nice Country Scenery too. Thanks for posting.
As you stated, the zoom lens exaggerates the "bumpiness" of the line. It's hilly, with its fair share of grades, but not very bumpy. Regardless, the speed limit on this line is I think 10mph, maybe less.

Per Neal and Luke, other than waiting for GP to unload the car they just delivered, they were done switching for the day.
Just because we were not switching cars does not mean we were standing around with our thumbs up our.....
Probably took the time to watch the new guy clean the 1044 top to bottom. Actually quite impressive for Batavia to have a light day, that doesn't happen much anymore

Yes it was! In fact, there's a BCK Alco HH660 perfectly preserved and on display in the neighboring town of Hamburg, and it still runs!

Awwww Ganson street looks repaved so I'm guessing all the remnants of the tracks going to the silos that are now Riverworks are gone.
Yeah it was repaved around a month ago; Ganson's smooth as ice now.
We've enjoyed the tour boat excursion going through this part and smelling the Cheerios...Great footage!

@@garymartz7587 The local that works the Old First Ward is one of my favorite ones to catch, though filming along Ganson Street can be a pain with the traffic and having to set up on the wrong side of the street. The area there does look different without the Great Northern.

@@Watertender-lu7vj Two will (1804 and 2002) once an old Owens Illinois plant building near Lineage is refurbished into an engine house. For now yes, 2002 is being kept in Brockport.

Just imagine what that area looked like 50 years ago, when all that abandoned rail and bridges were still in service. And it’s still a maze of track yet today. Thanks for the coverage.
Especially with the railyards and industries that were razed on top of the ones that were simply abandoned. The whole area must've been a sight to behold!

What's interesting is that 2002 and 2035 have different turbochargers. So while they are essentially the same locomotive, they have quite a different sound.
