if the rear was to bounce, would it cause the pitbull restraint to loosen or anything?
Sounds interesting
Excellent presentation sir. Everything explained in perfect detail. I am a DIY mechanic/hobbyist and own a small metal-cutting band saw that has served me well over 30 years; except, I am always breaking blades. I have always guessed at blade tension and realize this is the culprit to blade breakage. I cannot justify purchasing a Starrett or Lenox gauge, but it is obvious enough how they work, so I intend to make my own. I am a mechanical designer and a machinist so that should be no problem. I will incorporate a .001" dial indicator and tension my blades to the calculated stretch in thousandths.
Thank you for that bread knife explanation!!
Excellent video! The detailed install info is greatly appreciated.
Good information. Thanks.
Does this only work for that specific bike? I'm assuming the wheelbase would be different if you had multiple bikes and wouldn't work for more than one?
correct, with this setup I can only load a bike with this specific setup. If you use the pitbull trailer restraint system on a typical flat bed trailer with no front wheel chock then that is not a limitation. If I want to take a different bike to the track on this trailer I either need to move the mounting plate or just not use the pitbull setup and mount the bike as kendon designed it.
@@ForrestMFG gotcha, thanks for the detailed reply!
Did you have to drill through the frame for the TRS plate bolts?
the way I did it, I only drilled through the deck plate. but I then added reinforcing bars underneath. Just attaching to the deck plate would not be secure enough in my opinion.
Does it have leaf springs or solid axle??
torsion axle. a decent enough ride considering how light the bike/trailer combo is.
Awesome piece of machinery !
You gave me a lot of ideas! Thank you!!!

how would the material dust be cleaned and could there be any residual HEPA filter dust ?
that type of blade produces no dust. It is a knife style blade and does not create swarf.
interesting!@@ForrestMFG
It would be helpful if we could hear what you are saying
I was planning a test cut this week but was worried about wasting a roll. Thank you.

I appreciate the video. I had a bunch of poly to cut off the cores and my razor knife wasn't doing the job. I have to chuckle about the covid "unmask" before you start inhaling plastic and paper dust.
Do you ever sharpen the scalloped blades? How?
I KNEW you were going to hit your metal weight.
FoorrestMFG~bravo! useful ,))
Great little tutorial. The one thing I would add though, is to make sure when installing the gauge that you do not seat the back of the blade so as to touch the back of the gauge. Ensure only the set screws are in contact with the blade, not the gauge body itself.
I agree. otherwise the jaw that pivots might bind, thus giving a false reading.
ما المشكلة في جعل المسافة بين البركتين كبيرة جدا
How many cuts can you get before changing blade?
hi my friend.i have phenolic resin foam
Gorgeous bike! Your video answered all of my questions, except how you ramp your bike onto the trailer?
I just walk it up with ramp provided with the trailer. Single person job once you get the hang of it. I do recommend putting some traction material on the trailer deck. Last time I loaded was in the rain and the deck plates got really slippery so I had to ask for some help. I have since put an acrylic anti-slip spray on the deck.
Very good thanks

You gonna put peanut butter or marmite on that?
Herb infused butter. Then served with a crisp white wine.
Good job john
Nice👍
This is for a follow-up operation to cutting large curved segments, correct?
This machine can be used to cut either half rounds or curved segments, which are basically anything smaller than 180 degrees. In this video we show the setup for cutting half rounds. And this video is painfully old. I need to redo it.
Would it be advisable to preload the gauge just a bit, then set the dial to 0? That way you know the bottom pivoting arm is against the gage.
I don't think you would want to do that. Just slacken your blade until it is completely detensioned, but don't let the blade curve or get floppy. Then mount the guide and zero the indicator. You are possibly correct that a tiny bit of preload wouldn't matter. But I prefer to start with the blade slack but straight
Давно слежу за вашей работой, очень круто все. Сам переделал пилу jet в что то похожее, пилю графит полотнами morse. Но ваши станки выше всяких похвал. Надеюсь когда-нибудь соберу подобный станок.
thank you. When cutting graphite there are a couple of things to watch out for. First the material is very abrasive and will dull your blade quickly. then a dull blade will not cut straight. Next the dust produced when you cut graphite is electrically conductive, so if the dust gets into your motor or other electrical parts it may short them out.
What is cost for that machine‼️?
depends on the options, but not cheap. Think "new car money." please call or email us at forrestmfg.com to discuss your application and get a proposal.
omg
I'm looking to do the same setup. Did you consider putting the pitbull base plate in front of the rear wheel so that way you'd push the bar into bracket instead of dragging it and wouldn't be as hard to adapt the bracket to clear the siderail since narrows towards the rear. I don't have a pitbull system yet so I can't do a fitting/measuring myself. I'm assuming the bar and base plate bracket will clear the trailer hitch hinge if mounted forward of the rear axle
you have to push the bike onto the trailer WITH the TRS on the rear axle. how do you expect to push your bike onto a trailer with the TRS in front of the rear wheel? it doesn't work that way.
I briefly looked at doing it that way, but there were multiple geometry issues. doing it with the base plate behind the rear axle was the only way it was going to work.
@@roman2227 funny their website shows that mounting it with the bar in front of the rear wheel as an option. It's possible if you have the clearance. On a regular trailer it wouldn't be an issue.
@@ForrestMFG worth a shot! Thanks
@@Rzm1986 On a flat trailer deck I'm sure it would work and I did look at that option. But on a Kendon trailer that would have required cutting down or removing the two round tubes which serve as a wheel guide. Probably could make that work on a Kendon with the additional work but I am satisfied with this setup. But then anchoring everything in front of the hinge would mean I would not need those clamps to hold the rear deck from bouncing. If you do mount one this way please post a video. I'd like to see how it turns out.
I don't understand. What's the tape for?
for lack of better words, it is to prevent vacuum sucking from the front where it doesn't do any good. taping up everything except the opening on the top surface means it focuses the dust collection at the top of the nozzle where it does the most good.
Tell me the blade details
the blade is what is called a "scallop edge knife style blade" but it looks just like a bread knife such as you might have in your kitchen at home. We sell this blade or it is available from other specialty bandsaw blade manufacturers or resellers. It is kinda special stuff so not everyone who deals with bandsaw blades will have it.
Can these saws be used to cut hardwood slabs like oak or walnut?
We prefer to stay away from wood products. The grain and moisture content of wood makes a big difference in how it cuts. We are experts in cutting all sorts of industrial materials but cutting wood on a bandsaw is its own world. that said I do have customers using these machines on a variety of wood products, but that is not our focus.
What is the recommended tension for cutting wood (woodworking)?
typically between 15k and 22k PSI but look up the specs from the manufacturer. they're not all the same
Perfect video! You have the exact setup that I'm looking at!
glad to be of help. One suggestion is to put some traction material on the trailer diamond plate. I had to load in the rain the other day and the trailer deck gets crazy slick. I put down some high friction tape such as you might use on stairs so it won't be a problem again.
Thank you for the video!
Thanks for the very clear and helpful explanation.
Can i get ur contact please.. I have to ask some questions regarding this .. Regards Varma
Hi fellows. I think you need to take some time and take a fast tour on Woodprix website.
Thanks for this, could you take a close up video of the saw blade as it is cutting the EPS. Have you tried using hot wire? Curious to see how it would come out for thin sheets.

Where did you purchase the new replacement wheel from? Looking for a 14" with a 1" bore.
I appreciate the information and demo my only concern is the operator is standing in an unsafe position, I know bandsaw blades do not break often but it has happened to me a few times in my life. It breaks at the weld and when it does the blade continues to travel with the broken end usually slamming into the table and unrolling off to the side where this operator was standing.
Thanks for the great video. This is a great machine.
