0.62 carat - Rhodolite Garnet - Gem Cutting Everything started off well cutting a pear shaped design until it popped off the dop. My attempts to save it didn't work out but we still ended up with a beautiful garnet. I'll cut another one match and make a pair of earrings soon. I have never seen UV resin before. I would have liked to have seen your method for removing the original dop. Fabulous job - a truely stunning gem! Thank you for this video.
Thank you! The UV resin is good stuff. There is link for it and other tools we use in the description. The first dop comes off with a torch. You can see it in some of the other videos.
Clever way of redopping
It's worked for me in the past. I don't think I was careful enough this time.

Looks amazing! Do you have a link to the UV light that you put around the transfer jig? Also, how long does it sit there to cure? Lastly, start to finish, how long did this cut take? Thanks!
Here is a link to some of the tools we use. statelygemstones.com/tools-we-use.html Cures in a few mins. I usually let it sit for 10 mins or so to be sure. This gem took a few days working intermittently.
