How are the jpg's with that body and the 35mm ZA?
Jpegs are fine, i sometimes use it (casual shots) to share with the family, i mostly prefer raw and tweak a little bit of WB, Shadows and highlights.
Glad to hear the positive comments. I just bought a used one for my a7rV. The Tamron wasn't my first choice, but I can't afford the Sony offerings right now, & the used Sigmas are scarce. I saw some wonderful photos at Flickr from this lens, so starting to get excited about adding this Tamron to my cheap-but-good lens line up.
Yeah, this is a very nice glass, i actually sold mine and bought again after a year, i also sold many landscape photos from my site using this lens. I’m pretty sure it will offer you great value and performance too.
Great video, for size comparisons! Although, it looks like homeboy is trying to turn ordinary household items into a makeshift camera. It's not fittin', homie.
Cheers bro
Informative and interesting, this video deserves a like! Thank you!
You’re welcome mate. Thank you too
Also was it set at f/1.8 thank you. Nice shooting
Yes it is, the thumbnail says it all. Cheers.
Hi was that auto focus or manual. Cheers
Hey, it’s AF, will be hard to do MF on this fast pace movements.
He I'm planning to buy same setup a7iii and 28-200. Is it good for astro? Did you find any issue at 28mm with 2.8 like corners are not sharp or coma & astigmatism?
Hey bro. I haven’t noticed any CA at 28mm, but I normally stopped down to f/4 and even f/5.6 as i use a star tracer. It’s a good setup, very sharp for a superzoom lens
@@OneRiley hey thanks for your input, will definitely go with this one now, and yeah planning for star tracker as well. Thanks once again
@ParagOak all the best mate
Excellent video, I've just received mine used from MPB very nicely packed but I was interested if there was a pouch for the lens. The 55mm f1.8 has nice pouch in the box, but the 35mm f2.8 doesn't. Did you find a "pouch-solution" for the lens. I might ask my wife to make a pouch out of some thick fabric.
Still such an amazing piece of glass that still perfectly works on the latest and greatest Sony alpha bodies.I just keep this on a padded camera bag 😃
Thank you for the side by side comparison it really helps
You’re welcome mate
Thank you for this video, I have the same camera body and just got this zoom lens. Looking forward to testing it out on the local beach.
It’s a good one, all the best
very good video. Why not try it with 28mm instead of 75m? 2K ISO is good enough to avoid all the noise,
Thank you, will try it soon.
28/200 new owner and I love it❤
It’s a very good and sharp lens, better than most superzoom models out there
Dude, you’ve told me more about this lens without saying a word that most reviews I’ve seen.
Glad I did bro, just trying to present it on a different perspective. Thank you
When selecting median as the stacking method, all stars disappear...
Hello, maybe you have to wait for few minutes? I have never experienced that yet, maybe check if your software is up to date? Or try to restart your PC if it’s too heavy.
Great comparison video, just cleared my questions on what the difference was between the two!! But one question if you dont mind, which one would you recommend for outdoor/desert fashion photography at night (bear in mind this will be my first night photography so I am preparing myself :) .)
Glad i helped mate. About your question, if you intend to use it at night, even if you have some flash, I would steer you on getting the 28-75mm because of the constant f/2.8 aperture. Otherwise; for all around on broad daylight, then you can’t go wrong with the 28-200. All the best
Thank you so much for your reply!!
Anyone shooting with this lens? Please comment your experiences below.
Did I change shutter…if yes which is the right number
It is a decent lens yet I was never tempted by it due to its rather limited FL range. The 17mm on the wide end is so so, 28mm is rather ok yet with the 17mm start it could go to 35mm. Or start at 14, 15mm with the end at 28mm. Therefore I chose the Sigma 14-24/2.8 and I still have it. It is fabulous.
Good point. Can’t go wrong with either of these lenses. Isn’t the Sigma big and can’t take filters? All the best. Thanks
My starter lens from 2018 and I still use it to this day
Such an amazing piece of glass. Blends well with alpha mirrorless cameras, making them extremely compact.
Interesting presentation for this video. Asmr meets review, kinda cool.
Thanks mate. More like this to come soon.
I owned it and its very nice lens. I might buy another one because it is so light and compact. the lens produces excellent images.
Couldn’t agree more. Thanks.
Please comment if you're planning to buy or already have this lens. Two words: "IT'S AMAZING"
Excellent
Thank you
Thanks for sharing, awesome pictures!😍 Do you a have a tip, what brings more details to the milky way photo? A single long exposure like 3-4 minutes or multiple shorter exposure's stacked together?
Hello Valentin, i prefer the later (stacked). I have a separate video about this using Ps and Lr. Thank you for your time watching this video
I Thought that was a white camera..
😂😢
Beautiful!
Thank you 🙏
You can use F2.8 until what focal length?
Great video! I also have this lens and love it for photo as it so compact and I like the colors I get. However, in video my copy of the lens exhibits focus breathing...Have you had the same issue with yours?
Thanks bro. I haven’t noticed any focus breathing from my copy, it’s very snappy and sticky like the 55 f/1.8. Maybe your distance from your subject? Maybe the subject’s color? All the best mate.
@@OneRiley Thanks! Maybe I should I try another copy. I don't notice the breathing except for video...otherwise I love the lens
@BackpackingVideos 2nd that bro, still a great piece of glass, i always carry this with me and the Samyang 135 mil
Per que no los dos?
I didn’t keep both as i got myself a 135mm.
@@OneRiley makes sense, I got 35 + 55 + 85 like this week, I ended up using 35mm on FF and 85mm on APSC do its like 127mm equivalent. I'll give it some more time, but might end up doing the same
From your setup, seems that you might need to part ways with the 55 mil soon, or you can still keep it, it’s a stellar lens. Time will tell.
@@OneRiley will give it few months, for events I'll likely skip 55mil, but maybe will use it in single lens portrait sessions, but could swing either way
You’re welcome bro
Thank you so much for this wonderful review!
Welcome bro
Setelah melihat makin yakin gw nasa bohong
This lens is a background melter and i love it!
It’s a bokeh beast, love it too.
Best Video on 18-300 mm lence, clear visualization of results no nonsense talking and lecturing. Great job
Glad you like it mate. Thanks
Great comparison. I'm now a proud owner of both lenses: The 28-75mm f/2.8 is equipped whenever I can. The 28mm-200mm is for filming motor sports. The previous 75mm upper limit has really proven to be too little as it made me miss many cool opportunities to get a shot.
Love your motorsports vids @pbkbls Patrick, these lens are truly amazing
Hello there I am using a7ii. I want to find a versatile lens for miscellaneous and travel photography. I'm very hesitant to change lenses because I might miss the moment. I'm debating between the 28-200mm and the 28-75mm gen1 Hope you can give me some advice Many thanks
Hello, if it’s mainly for outdoor, then the 28-200 will be the ideal choice because of the reach advantage. Just be aware that you either need to raise your ISO or lower your SS to compensate with variable aperture(s) when shooting indoors. I also use a prime 35mm f/2.8 for travel and just zoom in and out using my feet, really depends on what type of look or perspective that you’re after. There’s also that big 35-150 if you don’t mind the weight. =)
My wife’s favorite lens, and my only non sony GM, its a great lens
That's awesome to hear! It's always great to have a favorite lens that stands out.
Does AF-P 70-300mm works on Nikon D5300?
Hey @Kevin, yes it is, I used D5300 on this video.
@@OneRiley sir I thought the d5300 is only gonna work with AF-S?
This doesn't appear to work in PS 2024 unless I'm doing something wrong. I have 10 DNGs which are all the same in Lightroom Classic. After choosing panorama in PS at 4:01, and unchecking the "Blend Images Together" checkbox at 4:19, PS creates what looks like an actual panorama image where they are shown one below the other. They don't appear like yours do, where they take up the full canvas each.
That’s sad to hear bro, can you try restarting your Pc and do ot again please? Not sure of the new AI thing on that version that hinders you to process it like the way on this video.
Good video! I use both these lenses on my a7iii. The 28-200 is a great all around, outdoor lense. For all indoor, I use the G2 especially with the lense custom button set for eye auto focus: found this to be the sharpest lense for indoors event photography.
Can’t agree more, that G2 is really sharp, I also love its design compared to the G1. 28-200 is very sharp too, most superzoom lens doesn’t really get this sharp
згоден хороший обєктив
Very Good lens indeed
Not enough of a difference between the two in my opinion. It just makes sense to go with the ridiculously awesome focal range of 28-200 🙂 Plus, Sony sensors are very capable so the minor lowlight grain doesn’t bother me. Can easily be fixed in post.
You can’t go wrong with both @JulianRalphie, but yeah i ended up with the 28-200 😀
Is that Cape Reinga ? cheers from Warkworth :) Thanks for the video
Kia Ora mate, yup it’s Cape Reinga
@@OneRiley Kia Ora ! I am just watching this test and the sceneries looks suspiciously similar to ones in my phone and than Cape Reinga and i go wow! That must be from here and sure it is. My friend gave me her Nikon D5200 and as I had ages ago the D5100 and liked it for my big hands I am in a hunt for a nice telelens. This seems nice but quite pricy... I wonder if the sigma 18-300 or Tamron 18-270 would do the same job :) Cheers
Thanks for this. Its 1:37 and Im about to head out with this knowledge now =) Wish me luck fellow pps
All the best Stefan
Great test. I wonder how 70-300 for FX cameras would perform in this test. On DX camera it would be about 100-400m I guess
Didn’t had a chance to test those bro, you’re right, there’s going to be a x 1.5 crop factor
The best lens test on YT.
Thank you
How does it perform in terms of af ? I want to buy this lense for my A7C2 but am not sure because of its age if it can hold up.
Hey man, i feel that it’s still optimized for this newer FF cameras, the focus as still very sticky and fast on my a7iii, i also noticed this when I have the other Zeiss 55mm f/1.8 before. I think a7c2 and this Zeiss 35 f/2.8 will be a perfect duo due to their size.
What camera did you shoot with?
Hey bro it’s D5300 and D7200
what star tracker is that
Hey bro it’s Polarie by Vixen Optics
@@OneRiley Thanks!
