How long does it take to fill the tank from zero
The only rule that ever mattered for old Lincoln's like that is how many bodies can you squeeze in the trunk? And kudos to the man that can openly admit he loves him some big drawz...
@woodshed_moments that's right lol, thanks for watching and commenting glad you enjoyed the video.
Same as the Innova
@johnimburgia4321 it is, I rented one from autozone once and it was identical. The instruction even list the Innova website for some troubleshooting thing or warranty or something like that
Is it normal for the compressor to constantly click after about 8 seconds
@josephmcnamee1132 no I think that means it a little low on freon when it cycles that quick but honestly mine has quick cycled for years and seems fine
I want to pick one up so bad but it seems as though the prices are starting to creep back up.
@antz350 I've noticed that lately too. I'm sure you could still find one though just browse around. Thanks for watching and commenting, I hope you enjoyed the video!!!
@@hoobsgarage thanks for the upload man. I’m going to keep looking.
My icon flex is my beater ratchet and gets the most use
@lrodecw good to know it's holding up, thanks for watching and commenting!!
So then if the EATC spits out a code indicating a faulty component, that would keep it from turning the compressor on? Say for example, it gives you a code for a fault with the blend door actuator, would that fault keep it from turning on the compressor?
@momurderah there may be a code in there that could disable the compressor but I'm sure the actuators wouldn't be one of them. Thanks for watching and commenting hope you get it figured out be sure to stop back by and update us or ask any other questions
I have the exact same jack, same color too! I never bled it prior to use.....it seemed to work fine, went to full height with 3-4 pumps. How do I know if it needs to be bled?
@TheNewnan3 you're probably fine mine worked fine directly out of the box too. I just went ahead and bled it like the manual said to. Thanks for watching and commenting. Good pick on the color orange is my favorite lol.
Don’t forget to oil daily wether you use them or not HF orders! LOL 😆
@sizzleneck yes lol, harbor freight can be bossy
Thanks for the video, I have one from 96, now 10 years, and this is in the EU-Finland, actually for 30 year or so I haven't had anything but these big sedans , one Cadillac and others were from FOMOCO, Yet good thing is spare parts are interchangeable and not overly difficult to find although mostly I have to order those parts from the US, All the Best, and God Bless, Paul
@paulthescandinavian4992 glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for watching and commenting.
Two years ago, I replaced my evaporator and accumulator / Orfis tubes, I then took it in for a pressure test to see if it would hold and it held like a champ so they then fully charged it. Today I go out to the car and have no ac and so I look under the hood and I noticed my sensor on the accumulator was very loose, do you think that caused my system to leak?
I get a 12/59 code too
@josephmcnamee1132 I guess it could it goes into something like a tire valve so maybe it was pushing it down just enough to leak? I doubt that was it but I guess anything is possible
The 1/2" is on sale now for about $60, the 3/8" is on sale for about $55. I got the 3/8" torque wrench. I went to Harbor Freight and purchased an ICON 1/2" flex torque wrench that is a very nice wrench that some say it is better than a Snap on.
@vancedyer755 I love those icon torque wrenches. If I didn't already have torque wrenches, I would buy some immediately. I may buy some anyways lol and I'm pretty sure this weekend all icon ratchets are still 40 percent off. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you enjoyed the video!!
@@hoobsgarage The deal on the 3/8" Kobalt for $55 was too good to pass up. I also needed a bigger 1/2" to work on my Harley as well. The ICON was recommended to me and the build quality seems pretty good. Do you exercise your torque wrenches before each use?
@vancedyer755 I try to but sometimes I get in a hurry and don't lol.
I’ve had a couple of these. Biggest weakness the air suspension goes bad and you have a instant low rider.
@1951RKP yes that air ride van be a little problematic. Luckily there is cheap options out there for repairing it. Thanks for watching a commenting hope you enjoyed the video
Dude.... Your camera work needs some work. LOL. I'm getting nauseous trying to watch the video. I like your tools though.
@beausmith717 glad you liked the tools. I wasn't real happy with the camera work either. This phone ain't to good unless it's on a tripod but I was afraid people wouldn't get a good look in the drawers that way. Someday if I actually make money at this I'd like to upgrade equipment. Thanks again for watching and commenting!!
I have a 2003 Cartier. I never knew it has the auto self check. I will try that as soon as I get home today. I added freon but it will not get cold. Might have a leak somewhere.
Yea it's kinda cool it can self test. Thanks for watching and commenting glad you found the video helpful!!
stay with air. batteries do not last. just keep them lubed
I think I agree with you I guess time will tell. I'm not a professional so I won't use them often and it'll probably be time for me to replace batteries before I get my money's worth out of them. Thanks for watching and commenting I hope you enjoyed the video!!
Do these need snow tires on the rear for winter driving
@dnhrage they get around decent in the snow but I don't get much snow where I live. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
If you can find a good condition Panther Platform car for a good price buy it!
@billholb1974 yes sir, thanks for watching and commenting!!
I’m almost certain I have this exact same issue I’d love to see the specific instructions for inspecting that wire harness would you mind posting the text from the Forum that you were in.
@zh2os I don't really have any instructions they just told me where the wiring harness began, which was right there at the connector. I can tell you mine was a red wire with a silver stripe and red with black stripe that goes to the ac compressor. Lucky the break in my wire was right at the connector. Hope you get it figured. Thanks for watching and commenting
Nice!
@@ailink5908 thanks glad you enjoyed the video!! Thanks for watching and commenting!!
Was about to buy this exact compressor. After watching, I’m going with an IR instead.
@brewsnoop thanks for watching and commenting. im glad you found the video helpful. I will say once all the cross threaded issues were addressed it does function normally but I still say it's ridiculous it ever left the factory in that condition. Thanks again for watching.
Exactly. I might look at Harbor Freight rather than DeWalt, after seeing this video.
@Gary_in_NoVA I was checking out the mcgraw unit about this size last time I was in harbour freight. It looked like a well made unit. Thanks for watching and commenting!!
@@hoobsgarage I have had one for 2 years. They are great! My local store is currently out of the unit. Must be popular!
@ToxicityAssured mine is functioning fine as well but doesn't change the fact multiple ones were assembled like crap
The only drawback to aluminum body air tools is they get cold to the touch.
@hk45c62 that's a good point, I bet all that air rushing through there dies make it cold. Thanks for watching and commenting I hope you enjoyed the video!!
I agree 100% on everything. I say stay with the air suspension system. It's cheap to fix and maintain. Mine is a 2004 with 118,000 miles. It's been maintained and looks and rides like a 2 year old car. People comment and look at it every day. I enjoy it.
@barrygoldwasser5449 I like the air ride to the only thing I've noticed is it seems like switching to springs makes it handle curves a little better. Sounds like you're having good luck with yours too. They're sure beautiful cars aren't they? Thanks for watching and commenting, glad you enjoyed the video!!

I have those HF air ratchets. You'd better get some HF ear muffs to go with 'em.
Thanks for watching and commenting, and yes, they're very loud, lol. Have you ever used any other air ratchets? Is it normal for them to be that loud? It's the first time for me
@@hoobsgarage I've used a few tool truck ones.... My impression is the cheapo ratchets scream louder. But they work, so they are a nice place to start.
@76Starship well thanks for the info That was my first thought was they were crazy loud lol I was wondering if that was normal

I love my town car. I like big cars but petite ladies.
@animestarlord9021 I like all the ladies lol. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you enjoyed the video!!
61 years old and a Grandpa now so I just bought a Grandpa car. 2004 LTC Signature. 97K miles and not a speck of rust anywhere. Undercarriage is immaculate. Definitely NOT from Ohio where I bought it. I did watch this vid first. Started it cold and listened, looked for leaks. All great. Was sitting level even though it had sat long enough to drain the battery. A battery pack jumped it, but the car died almost immediately after removing the jumper cables. So long story short it came with a brand new alternator, and a brand new battery. Courtesy of the dealer, simply in order for me to take the test drive. Drives and (now) runs like a champ. After I got it I took it to my buddy who knows more about vehicles than anyone I know and even he was surprised at how clean it is. Here's how clean this car is. The silver on the bottom door sill on the driver's side looked scuffed. It wasn't scuffed, it was the original protective tape that covered it or what was left of it. On the other 3 door sills that protective tape is still 100% intact. On a 20 year old car. Blew my mind. This vid and others helped me decide to pull the trigger when I found a clean one, thanks much.
@Duck420Ag that's awesome and I'm glad you found the video helpful. Good luck with the new car I'm sure it'll be a great car for you, these old lincolns are pretty much unstoppable. Thanks again for watching and commenting!!!
How much did you pay?
Your video helped a lot, thanks. I was curious to know your opinion on cabin noise in the lincoln town car vs the marquis and the vic. Is there a noticeable difference between the three? Thanks again
@HaloDaycare hey thanks for watching and commenting and I'm really glad you found the video helpful. Town cars are the only ones I've ever owned but I did have a grand marquis as a rental for a week and I noticed no different in either of them. The only crown vic I ever rode in was a wore out police car lol, not arrested just riding with a friend lol. It was a little bit of a rattle trap but that could've been all the equipment and the rough life it had. It still wasn't horrible though at all, I'm sure in better condition it would be the same. I don't think they're is any difference in build quality or the quality of materials in any of the 3. Thanks again for watching I'm glad you stopped by the channel we're glad to have ya here.
Great car show....I counted at least 2 more Chevelles. My kind of neighborhood.
@johnriley8713 yea it's was a pretty good show. There were a few a few other chevelles there. I don't know if you seen that black 67 or not, but that thing is absolutely gorgeous. I wish my brother and dad could've went and took their chevelles. It's cool when we have them all parked together. Thanks for watching and commenting!!!
Great video, I'm in the market for one now, and doing the research into all the issues these can have. Your video was very helpful, subscribed, and looking forward to more content. I'm a DIY fan also and have been working on our '78 Lincoln Mark V with my 14 year old son. My dad always had a continental growing up, so i can't help but love these old beasts! Keep up the great work!
@StevenDirtsquirter hey thanksnfor watching and commenting and supporting the channel!! I really appreciate it! I'm glad you enjoyed thenvideo and found it helpful. I bet your mark v is sweet, I remember my grandma had one when I was a little kid and I loved that thing lol. Thanks again for watching!!
Dewalt definately has quality control issuess on their air compressors; your not alone. I bought the two stage 30 gallon dewalt air compressor last year around this time, started it up for break in and the nut on the flywheel wasn't tightened down and the fly wheel came off. Bent the shaft or fly wheel as it had a horrible wobble after putting the nut on and tightening down. Was considering ordering another one at the time and decided not to after returning the first one.
@matthewhoffman6520 thanks for watching and commenting and sorry you had problems to. It's unbelievable they let them leave the factory like that. Did you reach out dewalt and tell them about your issues? If so what did they say?
I have a 3ton Daytona jack but I’m not bleeding it. I just set it up today and when I started pumping it up the whole front of the jack lifts up as well and it just feels very light when I’m pumping it. I was just curious if this is this normal?
@M5WithSubs I bled mine before I ever tried to use it so I can't really answer what it's like without bleeding it. I will say mine does go up extremely easy with no weight on it if thats what you mean. Usually full height in 3 or 4 pumps. Thanks for watching and commenting sorry I don't have a better answer.
I love my 2012 srt8 392 6 speed
Nice, I bet that 6 speed is fun. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you enjoyed the video!!
You said 320hp for the 5.7 or did you mean v6? Were you talking to the wheels which is usually slightly higher than that number for the 5.7 depending on the dyno or?… because the 5.7 from 09 up with the eagle heads are between 370-375 hp to the crank and 410 ish torque.
Yea I noticed that lol. I was talking about the v6 then gonna work up to the hemi but I got them mixed up. I never notice things like that until after I upload the video and it's to late to make corrections. Thanks for watching a commenting, I hope you enjoyed the video.
@@hoobsgarage I did, I have a 21 R/T plus. So I like hearing others perspective.
@Bullioncolin awesome I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I would've redone the video but I would've had to wait a whole week until I got a chance and youtube isint a fan of people deleting videos and reloading a similar one. Thanks again for watching and commenting.
Talk about how great they are but no link to buy them?
I'll add a link but all you have to do is look up worklight on Amazon and you'll see it. I put the picture. I'm not an Amazon affiliate I don't get paid to direct traffic for these people.
Bought those same ones a cpl years ago but they are black. they work just fine, not a problem with either of them. Same box too.
That's good to know they're holding up well. Thanks for watching and commenting. I hope you enjoyed the video!!
Can you drop the link in description please?
Yea I'll add it
I ll check the account drain if all ok I'll take it to ford In the spring b4 next summer have them go overit.
If I added freon to a 2001 town car compressor clutch turns on see nocodensation ever comes from drainage ac blows a little cold on60 coldest setting but not really cold any suggestions?
@user-xz9iv3xd7q that almost sounds like you just need more freon. I'd probably take it somewhere and let them drain it and change that orifice tube and recharge it. Thanks for watching and commenting hope you get it figured out
Did it fix it?
@rashadbooe13 thanks for watching and commenting and no unfortunately that didn't fix it. I ended up having a broken wire going to the ac compressor. Here's the video for that czcams.com/video/PQZADqM7Jg0/video.htmlsi=PwWWS3LuIVac006T Thanks again fir watching
I just got my friends 03 town car, supposedly she had a shop look at her AC they couldn't find a leak, now it's my turn, the clutch doesn't engage and there's no power to the connector, swapped relays and there's a diode in the fuse box under the hood that says it's for the AC, I haven't tried putting power directly to the compressor yet, I'll check this area for green crusties, she got another car and wants to sell the Lincoln, I'll keep trying.
@Peter-pv8xx thanks for watching and commenting and hopefully you get it fixed. Did you jump it at the relay to see if it kicks the compressor on?
The @Nerdrotic music!! HAIL
@johnriley8713 lol glad you liked the music and thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad to see it, I haven't seen you comment in awhile
My Escalade has 210,000 miles on original engine and transmission. I'm starting to get a rough shift on 3rd gear. The RPMs go up when it shifts. Any ideas?
@grandizer4531 Sometimes mine will kinda "flare" in between 2nd and 3rd. I've heard people say the 3rd gear clutch pack is bad about going out in these. But it's a transmission rebuild to fix that, so hopefully, that's not your issue. I guess the best case might be a solenoid or valve body? Does it slip or just a rough shift? A rough shift is something that could probably be cured with a solenoid. I had a mechanic tell me once to put some seafoam in the trans if I thought mine was having solenoid problems, but I'm not comfortable recommending that because I've never done it myself. Definitely talk to a shop or do some research before trying that Hope your able to get it figured out, and thanks for watching and commenting.
@@hoobsgarage I put a bottle of seafoam trans tune. I'll let you know if it does anything.
@grandizer4531 sounds good definitely keep us updated. The shop that told me to do that said it was the best thing he seen for cleaning up transmission solenoids.
have a 2011 challenger rt classic also! bought new also toxic orange 6 speed. love the sound of the motor also! never in any kind of bad weather! I am 74 years old. car has 2700 miles on it. its a garage queen! best thing is its paid for!

I have one of these. I bought mine in May 2024 and runs perfect. zero problems. I did a few mods. Larger air filter, vented filler tube, longer tank drain hose and oil drain extension.
@michaelbell7465 it functions OK so far, just ridiculous it could ever leave the factory with all those different fittings crossthreaded like they were. Especially on 2 different units. Thanks for watching and commenting, hope you enjoyed the video.
