    So if your mean is somehow equal or roughly equal to the mean, then it’s a normal distribution right?

    why we didnt we follow the nrmal steps for NPP where i-0.5/n ? which brings to second question why did we add 1 although most videos chart NPP without adding 1 to the sample ? thank you so much . apologies if i am lost / confused

    At what stage shoud we run a normality test ?

    • @joesienaprof9128
      @joesienaprof9128 Před rokem

      I run a normality test if I am about to run a hypothesis test that needs it as an assumption. Also, if we have normality, then probability rules are clearer.

    My doubt is that do we have to check normality for every question in the questionnaire or it is overall data.

  • @JJ_TheGreat
    @JJ_TheGreat Před 2 lety

    19:16 So they “have a really good chance to be normal”, but that doesn’t mean that we have proven that the distribution is normal, correct?

  • @JJ_TheGreat

    Hi, Great video! I really feel I am learning about how to check for normality! Question: What should we look for with kurtosis for checking for normality? Thanks.

    Thanks for the video. It is pretty sad excel does not have an Anderson-Darling test for normality built in. I’m a retired guy and miss Minitab.

      Agreed. It would be nice for more advanced functionality but that is why we teach R Studio once we get past a first course in statistics.

    Hi Joe, My Mode: is # N/A however all my cells have values

    • @joesienaprof9128
      @joesienaprof9128 Před 2 lety

      A mode of #N/A means you have all unique values so hence no mode. The good thing is that for checking normality you want to focus on the mean roughly equal to the median.

    All, my first example has an intercept of 992.99 (around 3:31 time point). I wrote the R^2 value instead. That was my mistake.
