i was a psychobilly back then and always enjoyed all types of "billy" music and i sure luv Crazy Cavan... first time i ever heard of them was back in 88/89, still in high school, and i would have liked to meet Cavan cause he sure was a great man and a real rocker! rest in peace, mr Cavan Grogan

The guy is rubbish. he doesnt even play the guitar. I hate it when the performers think that looking like the artist is more important than the music. The backing band are useless.
Matter of fact Marc (Marcus) does indeed play guitar. We used to knock around together as teens in the 70's before he even became Buddy, at the time he was playing guitar and taking guitar lessons to help improve his technique. He is an accomplished guitar player. I'm not sure why he chooses not to play guitar on stage, maybe a managerial decision. As for others saying he doesn't sound like Buddy, Buddy was 22 years old when he died, Marc was over 50 years at the time of this recording so not so easy to be like a 22 year old. Buddy himself would have not sounded exactly the same at over 50 years of age.
I assume you are a musician/vocalist then? Please let me have your gig dates and I will happily come and watch and critique your performance. Perhaps Marc will come too

Really nice. They're all great. The music is just about perfect. The singer could use a little more Texas in his voice, but I'd go see them.

Is this performd at Hemsby , Norfolk U K? When? S Jeena - good version of Brenda Lee.- also- R Nelson. I thought she was gonna sing Th Way You Look Tonite, but - sang another song. I have a Roomates CD.
People who THINK they like rockabilly need to listen to this. If you like this you like real rockabilly if you don't like this go listen to something else.
Die Keytones hab ich in Hamburg 1986 das erste Mal gesehen, außerdem spielten die Jailers und die Rock abBilly Mafia. Den Jungs ist ein Jacket gezockt worden, als wenn es gestern gewesen wäre .Das war in der Fabrik.

This was a fantastic show, sadly this video doesn't do it justice. We were just in front of the pianist, Dale did a great show despite his frail appearance because he'd been going thro the hell of chemotherapy for colon cancer since 2005, sadly he eventually passed away in 2010. RIP Dale, thanks for the music sir.
We were there at Reading that afternoon/evening, think these guys from the Isle of Wight were the first band on stage hence the cool reception, but still enjoyed them !
We were so saddened we couldnt make this Hemsby, would have LOVED to see Clyde, especially as he had his original Nitecaps guitarist John D Levan with him too. It was a real shame he was sufering from hearing difficulties. We were even more saddened to learn Clyde died just 2 years later in a car crash. RIP Clyde Stacy.

What a legend, we saw Ray play the uk many times since the 80s up until only a few years before he sadly passed in 2021 - always a great show and always a lovely man to meet !.
Why have I only just now found this !! -thanks for the happy memories of another classic Hemsby, this was a great weekend, as well as the wonderful Sparkletones on their only Hemsby appearance, the headliners were Marvin Rainwater, the legend that is Jack Scott, Johnnie Allan and the Jacks/Cadets doowoppers. Brilliant !

Wow, so happy to find this. We were at this Hemsby like most of the Spring ones, and all of the first ten or so. As well as Narvel the Marvel, the 2002 headliners were doowoppers Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs , and rockabillies Lew Williams, Alvis Wayne and Teddy Redell. This was Narvel's third Hemsby visit, after Hemsby 19 and 22, but sadly we missed him at Hemsby 58 in 2017 . Thanks for posting !

It's great seeing an old rocknroll rockabilly singer coming out of retirement I can emagine him telling everyone back home guess what I'm going to the UK to do my old job. Rockabilly wow nice lew Williams great sounding for your years. I have your records and play them a lot.

I used to work with Merrill Moore in San Diego.He was an amazing man who could play all styles of music.He told me that Bob Wills said he would hire Merrill, when his pianist retired.He joked that that "Kelso" never quit,and he never received his dream gig.
