I grew up with a love for creating and a big sweet tooth. From drawing to sewing, I was always doing something creative. I went to the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and received a degree in Design and Multimedia in the School of Journalism. After graduating, I spent some time working on print, online and tv graphics before starting this site. Now I work full-time on this blog and love it! Why do you bake the Oreo cookies after you’ve blended them in the food processor? I wouldn’t think this stuff would be necessary. The cookies have already been baked once.

I was desperately trying to understand why the cream cheese frosting craze was ruining cakes for me more and more. And it's because ERMINE frosting used to be the star. I remember a time when I was little, there was a frosting used for red velvet cake and carrot cake that was just SO much better. This is it! THANK YOU! <3 <3 <3

I guess that depends on your definition of a copy cat. It's not exactly like there's. There's is way sweeter. Too sweet, in my opinion. But otherwise, I'd say they are pretty close.

I wouldn't think it'd resist it anymore than a regular buttercream. It's the butter that softens from the heat. You could try using shortening.
