    Well, How is Giraffe manage to chew bones? Through the dental formula of Giraffe can't manage to chew bones because their teeth are not modified to chew bone just like Hyena,so instead doing that they manipulate bone by leaking out the calcium through that process.

      Hi Iman, thank you for your comment and interest shown in this video. Yes, you are correct - Giraffe do not have mouthparts designed for crushing bones like Hyena do. Giraffe are ruminants and their molar teeth are adapted for grinding herbage. However, it is quite common for Giraffe to suck and chew on bones, and in doing so can extract small quantities of minerals from the surface of bones. As mentioned by Sultan, this behaviour is known as osteophagia and simply means “feeding on bones”. The bones are not swallowed but simply dropped when the animals’ craving for nutrients has subsided.
