Why the hidden menu battery reading is NOT an indicator of battery health. Max Kappa is the BMS estimated snapshot capacity at that point in time, its based on external factors (temperature, current load), coulomb count, these factors are then fed into a statistical model to provide an educated guess of what the current capacity of the pack. There is no way to display the battery SoH on an i3. (But it's almost certainly fine, as many have done 100,000 miles with no noticeable degradation. BMW did a good job of making sure the car looks after the battery well.) The best thing you can do is to regularly leave it on AC charge until **and after** it has reached 100% charge capacity. This is when cell balancing takes place. This information (on how cell balancing is managed on the i3) was given to some lucky owners who were given a workshop tour at the BMW UK HQ.

I’ve never had resin take 2 hours to dry. It’s usually cured in 20 minutes. I can do this entire project in less than 8 hours from tape up to carpeting the enclosure. You can also use bondo hardner if you don’t have mekp. SMD also sells Sunglass and it hardens with UV so as soon as it hits the sun it starts kicking off the process and is done in just minutes.

You’re supposed to press the button wait until the light turns white, then pull both the charger and the adapter at the same time. You DON’T leave the adapter in the socket like you did. Otherwise your lid closed right onto it. Just as you see here.

Careful when connecting the last battery terminal. Make sure you fit the terminal in one clean fit, no wobbling or sparking, as this may screw up the EMU, ECU, or other computer control modules in the car. If this happens then the car will not start and you will have an expensive repair bill.

Don't leave the adaptor in the car, the charge flap will try to close and trap it. Instead, stop the charging then remove both the charging head AND the adaptor at the same time.

Avoid this vehicle with a barge pole. I'd like to take a club hammer to it. I should get rid of it now while it still has some residual value. I will never buy another BMW.
