Ortur LM3 LE + 20w, engraving images on Plywood 62.5x30.5cm
I was asked if I could make some engraving on four popular plywood panels 62.5x30.5cm x 5mm, the customer requested dolphin's, Sea turtles & manta rays, so I used Bing AI to make some of the images, then sent off the design to the customer for approval, so now it's time to start on my largest wood project so far, I don't normally make wooden projects but let's have a go ;) So the final results I think, are looking very nice and the customer is well happy with them, always nice to hear that the customer is happy.

Hi and thanks for the comment, OMG you must have watched this soooooo many times then, ok first off, I use very cheap mirrors, the silver coating on the back is very thin and don't require a lot of power to remove it ;) so depending on the quality of your mirror will give different results, go find the cheapest mirror and do some testing mate, I can't see any other reason than that to be honest with you, well apart from the way your image is processed, if you would like to give me your email I will send you this lightburn file with all the settings and the image ready to go, for you to try it out ;) Thanks.

A new fiber user here.... Thanks for sharing the settings which is a good place to start with my 30 watter. My kitchen table has a Longer B1/30 to do all the cutting and next to it is my fiber. This fiber stuff is great $HIT with the speed and .01 mm precision. Made a nice USMC engrave on a brass coin for my brother and it came out EXCELLENT... (Commarker B4/30 watt not a MOPA - BUT "next time :-)", 1500 mm/sec at 90% power, - 25 kHz, 6 passes with a 15' rotation then a sub layer of 2 cleanup passes with a 90' rotation - 60kHz, globally repeated 14 times. (main burn 6 passes then 2 clean passes - the globally repeated 14 times).... ALL burns were .025 line interval - 1016 DPI.... Gotta run a couple of cleanup passes every 6 main burn passes or so to have a "clean" surface to burn another 6 passes. The final depth was just under a mm.... THESE ARE THE COINS TO BUY - ASIN B0CN32GG14... At 10 for 20 bucks is a good deal AND they measure a true 3 mm thick/40 mm diameter. The other big "A" coins are only ~ 2.2 mm thick and that asin number is the REAL DEAL.... So good, after my first order and checked them out, I bought 30 more.. 🙂 HAPPY BURNING.... Hank

Hi & thanks, yes you can use tio2 on stainless steel, but if using a fiber laser the best way is to do a clean up pass then do the black pass, if using a diode use a black marker first and go slow and hot ;) to be honest tio2 doesn't really help that much to get a dark burn. Hi & thank you, it is difficult to start with a fiber laser, adjusting the settings will drive you crazy ;) but you will work it out with testing many times, be patient and keep trying, it's amazing what can be made with a laser ;) enjoy and thanks for the comment.

Since 15 years, I have been dealing with angular energy electricity generation systems (R&D). My positive designs about angular continue. In this regard, my own financial means are insufficient, I had meetings with many businessmen, they accepted the financing of the project, but they gave up when it came to signing a protocol, that is, when it came to formalisation. If there is an entrepreneur who will take firm steps with me on this path, who is idealistic, has financial means and wants to make an official protocol, I would like to meet. 98% of the published videos are wrong and do not work. I know the mistake they all make.

@@lightworkz61I want to create a clean energy system for a cleaner world. No mechanical wheel system whose angle does not change can produce energy. No system will work against the laws of physics. You can promote this project in your country. I want to realise this project and get a worldwide patent. Of course, I need a solid and idealistic investor to realise these works. I convert angular energy into mechanical and electrical energy. I am an inventor. I am ready to realise this project in any country that will support me. Thank you.

Hi & thank you ;) I use Gigapixel AI to resize the image, then photoshop to reduce the greyscale level from 256 down to 128 levels which I find is best for slate, then I adjust curves, levels and gamma, then in Lightburn I give some sharpening, that's about it really, but every image is different, and it all depends on the image quality and what material you are engraving on ;) I hope this helps. Thanks.

Hello. I noticed that you sometimes use settings with 100% power. advice, do not do this, do a maximum of 90% power. There are empirical observations that when using 100% power, the laser resource can be greatly reduced

Hi & Thanks ;) Yeah Lightburn trace is amazing, I have even designed some parts for an underwater scooter handlebar to be made from acrylic, it had to be exactly same size and was full of curves, after I made the outline in Lightburn, I exported it as .dxf into my 3D softwave, extruded it and sent it off to be manufactured, worked out great ;)
