When I worked in France I asked my French colleague what is an Aubade. He responded, "You know a serenade?....well it's the same, but sung by the lover at dawn, not evening". I really like Aagaard-Nilsen's brass band works, but this would definitely wake me up from my sleep, first thing .

I've never listened to this piece before but my intention was to get some work done while listening. Needless to say, no work got done and I was hooked immediately.
