My thoughts on the 2025 BMW GSA
In this video I talk about the BMW GSA. People complained how plain the 1300GS was, and now they are complaining about how ugly the GSA is. I think they are just shocked that BMW did change it. A lot. And, well, I like bold new ideas. So I offer a counter point to all the videos complaining about it. But I do think it is nothing beautiful, rightly so.

Taking my FTR1200S for my FIRST RIDE of 2024

I missed riding my FTR more than any of my motorcycles, so I took it for my first ride of the year. It took my eight weeks to get on a first ride of 2024, but I'm so glad I did ride it, it was cold but it was dry and even the Sun came out for a visit.     Luved my 22 KLR650 and was going to pick up another one, but then I saw the tiger 900's, although I'm still not sure I totally like the looks of the front end and the front rake is pretty steep. But, it is a NICE bike. So i got o looking and there are some pretty good deals on nearly new 20-22 tigers and then I noticed the tiger 800 and I think it may actually look better, especially in the red and they say it is very smooth. I know the 2018-2019 had some nice updates, but is it that much better than the gen 1 n gen 2? I have found a 14 in excellent shape n never been off road and some super nice 2015-2017's. So for the price of the klr650 or slightly more, which I only did minor off roading with anyway and really liked taking small trips, I can pick up a nice Tiger 800, so there lies my dilemma. Will have to see if I can test ride the 900's n the 800's and go from there. Thanks for the video!

    Brilliant video, as a perspective multistrada owner in the future im doing my research on the bike and a long term review from a 10year owner doesnt get much better. I face many of the same problems as you living a distance from main dealers that would mean at a minimum a day off of work purely to take it for a service. I service my own bikes and not scared of bigger jobs so been researching the desmo service also. From an outsider looking in, your bike looks incredibly well looked after it still looks new, if you're selling it purely because of the desmo service, I wouldn't, service and keep it. You've had it for so long that you're not gaining anything by selling it now, and you'll wish you didnt in years to come

    A 2019 KTM 790 Adventure R is still before production of all 790s was contracted out to China, right?

    I am not sure whats wrong with me but i really like the look of this bike over the GS1300 I have never owned a BMW but rode one every day as a police bike so can attest to their strengths. This bike however has really made me think about ditching my Rocket next year and buy this bad boy

      I always liked the regular GS better than the GSA. But now I'm thorn, the GSA looks great. But I still don't know why I would need an 8-gallon tank. Why is a question I will ask in my next video.

    I think the current 1250GSA is a Beauty of a bike ..the 1300GSA not as much but i am sure it will grow on people.....looking at the release photos of the GSA there are some pics with a Clutch lever so i believe the ASA is an add on not standard EQ...I hope so i dont want 2 more servo motors and electronics to mess up !

      Yes, the ASA is only an option. You can get one with a regular clutch and clutch lever.

    You are so absolutely right! GS was never a good looking bike, it was always form follows function. We will get used to it, and in some time we will praise the revolutionary design of the 1300 GSA!

    Love the look. I know I am in the minority. It's subjective. What I don't like.......is no clutch option.....so, until they change that......the 35k+ will be spent elsewhere

      You can get one with a manual transmission. The Automatic Shift Assistant, the ASA, is only an option.

    1300 gs and 1300 GSA . It's an absolutely terrible design. All traces of the past have been erased. There is no alternative to the 1250 anymore.

    I rather like the 1300 GSA as well. I like the big tank. It reminds me of my own 2003 GS, on those models the tank is also, let's say, present. Like you, it also reminds of the Hoske tanks. They were very expensive back then. If you had a Hoske tank on your R69S you was the guy!

      When I did the search for photos of the Hoske tanks, I noticed they ae for sale for more than $2,000. They still carry a respectful value today!

    The lack of access to manuals, codes and resetting the service light are big deterrents for me. Well, that and having owned an old Ducati in the past! I'm willing to take another chance, and I'm handy, but Ducati really doesn't want owners to touch those bikes and it's hard for me to accept. It better not break down ever, but how likely is that. BTW, Desmo valve service isn't that much more difficult than on conventional motors or Japanese bikes.

      Someone posted here that we can buy a code reader for the Ducati, it's in the $300 level. So, not too bad. Yes, I keep hearing the desmo valve service is not too bad. I'll think about it.

    I would have rather they shed weight down to the 550-560 range which would have been in line with what they did with the GS.Instead it's 2 lbs heavier at 593 lbs. Looks more road friendly with more front protections, but less off-road friendly.

      I agree. With the modular design for bags around the tank and on top of it, it seems it is maximized for travel. And for profits for BMW.

    I was so looking forward to the new GSA because of the ASA, and thought I was finally going to be able to own my dream bike, a BMW GSA! But when I first saw the monstrosity, there was no way in hades, I would buy one. Now that the shock is wearing off, I’m getting used to the new look and starting to like it. Might seriously consider it now, if not, I’ll just get me a regular GS with ADA! Ride safe, subscribed!
