Matt, Real Estate without you has such a hollow boring sound. It's like they tried to take old sounding material/guitar licks of yours and rework them into something and it doesn't sound good. I listen to all your Ducktails albums and I love the sound you get out of your guitar and the mix of electropop type sounds in others. Please keep making music dude

It seems to work, but close listening has Zawinul, in this company, relatively dry in musical effect. This lack seems across the board as to white talents playing music of the black US community. It's as though white artists colonize only, are not integral to it. This is easy to overlook when someone like Joe Z 'does everything right', but there is something important missing here. It makes white players extraneous to the aesthetic launched by Louis Armstrong, and it's significantly never talked about, probably from fear of being taken as racist, which this comment is not.
