You can also loosen and drop the handlebars which give the cables a little more play to remove regarding the throttle cables. I had to remove them on one bike that I was working on because they had the cable kinked, at first I couldn't tell if it was in the carburetor or throttle side. It did make it easier to take the carbs out. I found it somewhat difficult to remove the throttle cables from the carburetor without having them off. However, on the choke cable, I did not remove it from the handlebar, I simply removed it after I had the carbs tilted. I did not remove the radiator stuff and all that. Yes, it was a nightmare. Carbs come through on the right side. Be careful using the screwdriver the way he did to remove those air boots. They will poke through easy. Spray them down with a little silicone spray to make them a little more pliable. Remember, CARBS COME ON THE RIGHT SIDE!
Buenas noches cuantos mil lleva de aceite las barras y que aceite utiliza para moto kawasaki Vulcan vn 750 mod 90 😊, saludos excelente video!
This is really useful, I live in a house with 5 other people and a cat so sometimes we feed her one extra time
That's an incredibly clever design!
Dishwashers tell you they are dont nowadays or js look at the dishes.
Very smooth action. Well done.
I could see another use if you have a hamper you place clothes in and need to know if the clothes are dirty or clean, but that’s just me!
what would be cool is if the spools would still roll that way it would be a bit easier to unspool them as wrapping an unwrapping is a huge pain.
I don't think that would work as the whole cord would need to travel around the two spools. The friction would cause it to jam. Unless I'm misunderstanding the intent? You can spool a single roll by rotating because the cord is stationary on the roll.
Good morning . my name is Alexander I'm from Brazil, and your videos on the Vulcan 750 are very detailed, and also everything done with care and testing, it's the best I've ever found to help me here with my VN. In recent years, I've had one for 15 years, and I've been viewing your channel for years when I need it. In this video I would just like to know how many degrees you turned the engine to bring the other cylinder into position. In the manual it says 305 degrees. so I believe you get 1 right and it takes almost 1 full turn to get 2 right
Yes, I didn't explain this fully in the video. Here is an explanation left on the forums. "Note to anyone (and this should be put somewhere important) timing the engine during rebuild: The end of one video concludes with the completion of one cylinder's timing, and the next video begins the other side timing. He doesn't explain how to turn the engine after rear timing.... Do not rotate the engine the small portion of the way. You must rotate the engine around three hundred something degrees. I made the mistake of timing rear cylinder on compression, rotating engine forward a small bit, and timing front on compression. They both ended up being on the same stroke, and luckily I caught it before it went together. You must rotate the engine so after timing the rear cylinder on compression, rotate engine until rear cylinder is on exhaust stroke, set front to top dead, and time for compression stroke."
Helped me out a lot with the extra steps thanks! Cheers.
The thermostat should NOT be touching the bottom of the pan, it should be suspended in the water.
Yep
I’m about to sell my 2006 Vulcan, because I don’t want to attempt this. I also don’t want to pay to have someone else do it.
I don't blame you.
Damn, do I feel late to the party! Just wanted you to know that people are still watching (and since I just started taking my carbs apart) still appreciating you taking the time to take the mystery out of the process. Thank You!
Thanks James!
Found a plastic material called "foamed PVC board", for replacing the bottom plate for my seat rebuild. It is 50% lighter than a regular PVC board, and has good characteristics for this type of application.
That is good to know! Maybe it takes staples better as well. The stuff I used was very tough.
@@Garage_Tinkerer Yeah, it is pretty malleable, I was able to cut the corners just using a mora knife. Regarding the staples, it is a apples to pears comparison, as I am using the slightly wider T-50 staples, as this stapler is much more heavy duty. I have no problems punching into a thick plastic cutting board with it, and that plastic is more dense than the foamed PVC board...
Very impressive repair. But now I feel bad about what I planned to do with the seat on my very stock Phazer I. This video is a breath of fresh air after watching 1.000 videos of people butcher their poor Phazers. Your snowmobile is blessed to have you...
Status,,? Did you test the new T sat ? Bro,, hope you don’t do that to your wife !! HA<< my bad can’t lie. .. thank you for the video
How did you complete your coster mod.
My bike.was a Canadian model so it was coastered from factory.
Hello sir i have a 2000 Vulcan 750. And i noticed water in my oil. Through the viewing glass port. I've eliminated the reed valves. And the air duct. I have oil comming out of this house and I'm not sure what it actually goes to. It's right behind the radiator coming from the valve cover, i think. Man at AutoZone told me to replace the water pump.
i think you might be talking about a breather valve. i would also look into a new waterpump seal.
Great video. The step by step makes it look easy enough to do.
I understand this is an old video. But you set the front cams and rotated engine how far to set the rear. Turning motor counter clockwise.
Hey Jason, Yeah it's been a long time and my memory of this is very fuzzy. I sold the manual with the bike, but that is what I followed. I would suggest tracking one down. Here is a comment on the forum regarding my lack of description on timing. Hello sir I just watched your videos on how to rebuild an engine for a 1995 Kawasaki Vulcan 750 12 years ago. I am about to purchase one exact same bike however it looks like it's in a little bit rougher shape than yours was. I also have a CZcams channel call Silver Survivor. The reason for the channel was I had been diagnosed with cancer so I was going to spend the next year living in a tent on the coast of British Columbia Canada and make videos of forging hunting and fishing . Unfortunately I got very sick and had to stop. Through treatment and Healthy Living I have made a full recovery. Which is why I'm contacting you. I would love to do a series on rebuilding the engine. I will also be doing several other things with the bike cosmetically such as repainting it new handlebars new Mufflers new sissy bar . I really enjoyed your videos and how precise and Technical you are . This would also bring some quality content to both our channels. Please contact me back if you would be interested in this endeavor . Thank you for your time. Take care. And have a wonderful day.
put the vulcan 750 engine at the ignition point, I didn't see that in your video, could you give me an idea like I put a cylinder at the top point and mount the rocker arms and then go around and mount the second cylinder, or is it on the same lap? Do you already mount it in the ignition position? your videos are excellent
Maybe make the drip tray a little larger, and 2 pieces for easier cleaning?
Thank you.
I wish I could print this on my FLSUN Super Racer :(. Too big for the bed. Awesome job though!
Andrew, thanks for showing this process! I had someone comment on one of my VN750 videos inquiring about an overheating issue with their VN750. One of the resources I provided them was this video so they can test their's.
Great video on basic carb cleaning bro!

I bought the same primer on Amazon, installed it and the thing didn't work. Wouldn't pump fuel and the machine wouldn't run at all.. totally junk product, going back to carrying my squirt bottle instead... works every time
Two things, there are different quality primers out there. The ones made in USA with white lettering are far superior to the ones without. Also, the nipple you put the hose that comes from the tank maters as well, if you put it on the wrong one it won't pump.
Hey Andrew. Another great video, and thanks for it. Thank you as well for the carb gasket files from the last video. I ended up buying gasket material and cutting it. So, the sled still does not like to start. I cleaned the carb and replaced the fuel filter, as I figured it was starving for fuel. Removing the plugs and pouring some fuel down gets it going, and once warm, will start with a single pull. When it's running, the throttle clearly delivers fuel when revving it up, so I believe that takes the fuel pump out of the equation. Is adding a primer likely to solve my problem? I am very much new to wrenching anything, so you're advice is appreciated. As an aside, following a video to add a grease nipple to my new-to-me snowblower, a trick I learned is to dip the drill bit, and then the tapping bit in grease, and voilà, 99% of those shavings stay stuck in the grease! Thanks again in advance!
WOW! When did Yamaha start making invisible rear tires?
So a few months later, did this all work out well? I'm looking to do this now as my 94 arctic cat panther 440 fanner is really struggling to start when it's very cold
Did you solve the issue with the pump?
Yes, I really need to do a follow up video. The reason the plunger wasn't sliding freely was because I had driven the pin that rides on the cam in too far and it made contact with the plunger. I didn't realize the hole went right through. I just needed to add shims to get the proper pumping amount.
Great videos and extremely helpful. I'm restoring a 1985 340T. Your engine teardown and reassemble videos are great. I'm installing the primer as well, this is a great idea. Appreciate the videos
By the way I noticed all your mastercraft tools you must be in Canada. Im in SW ontario.
These bikes are absolute nightmares to work on but heres the thing, have a box or tray to put alk your oarts and bolts in or i screw the bolts back into the holes when i can so i dont mix them up. If you take your time you will have the carbs off in less than a half hour, its really not hard just a lot of stuff to get out of the way. Also have a long flat screwdriver or pry bar and dont be afraid to pry off stuck carb boots and connectors
I have the DeWalt tool for my drill. Works slick, used it a few times, great angle!
Great job, did you take pictures of everything before you took it apart? It looks like a wire wheel bench grinder would be handy!
Yeah, I usually take pictures. But if I forget the microfiche pictures and manual come in handy. I agree, a benchtop wire wheel would be nice.
8:50 shows where cable is inserted under cap. According to other videos, spring tension is important here...
Wouldn't the spring tension mostly effect the cable pull? Or does it play a part in how the cam behaves? Can you share the videos you mentioned?
What app did you use to generate the drawing? I would really like to find this. Thanks for posting the video!
I traced over the scaled image in Autodesk Inventor. A free program like Fusion 360 would work just as well.
Awesome video great HD great commentary great clear camera angles
I just acquired a free 1980 Enticer 340. After watching this video, I removed it from the sled to complete a thorough clean and maintenance. The float bowl gasket was dry and basically disintegrated. It seems that they are discontinued. Any work arounds?
Yeah there isn't much available for aftermarket kits either. What I've started doing is 3D printing them TPU. But that isn't accessible to everyone. Another option is to get some gasket material of a similar thickness and cut your own. I can share a PDF that can be printed 1:1 if that helps.
@@Garage_Tinkerer that would be amazing. Thank you!
@@Garage_Tinkerer hello again Andrew. I would appreciate the PDF file, but if you could share a 3D printing file, that would be appreciated as well. I might be able to get the Tech department at the high school to print it for me. Thanks again!

what hardness TPU did you use for this?
I just picked up a 1983 Enticer 300 as my first sled and your videos are helping me so much getting this thing back in good running shape. Seriously appreciate the effort you put into filming!
