    Great video with explanation. My parking lights would randomly stay on without my knowledge. A bump in the road could trigger them. Removed the switch but was unable to remove the circuit board with the ease you showed. I was afraid I’d break the plastic housing. It looks like it is not possible to use the DeWalt chainsaw 12 inch bar on the pole saw. The pole saw has a 3/8 pitch , and gauge of 0.043 inch ( 1.1 mm ). Your DeWalt chainsaw uses a 3/8 pitch, 0.050 gauge ( 1.3 mm ) chain. Oregon make a 12 inch bar with 3/8 pitch with gauge 0.043 inch. It would be interesting to see the pole saw with a 12 inch bar. Maybe the 12 inch Stihl 3/8 0.043 Pico chain / bar would work, not sure if the bar would fit. Those chains cut smooth and fast. I don't think it is correct to call a bar length change an upgrade. Sometimes it is better to have a small bar, for example, when limbing small branches, or for tree climbing. The saw/bar length is just a configuration. The bigger is better is a modern day disease that is ridiculous when you think about it.

    • @PZPal
      @PZPal Před měsícem

      I really think it is impossible to know for sure without volt meter. You might be able to figure it out by connecting one prong to another with a wire, but you'd have to look through switch diagram to know. It shouldn't be too tough to figure it out, maybe search for how to test ignition switch. It's just something that I haven't had issue with, so I don't know which prong to test. I'd say get a volt meter and go from there. I don't think you need some other special tools to figure it out.

    Posted this comment originally to a different video...most of the information is still valid...this is a horrible job so I hope this and the above video help. it can be done. I just finished this Job - 6.5 hour job over 2 days including the time to run to Home Depot. (you need a 17 and 19 MM wrench) I could probably do it in 3 hours now. This video is great help...However these are things I wish I knew as well. Watch the video First and then add this info to your plan. Again carefully watch the whole video IT will save you time in the end. Don't skim! MOST IMPORTANT - Don't buy the cheapest new steering hose. I did and it cause me hours of frustration because it was kinked. Here is the thing you need to make sure about your new hose. Look at the Rack end of the new hose. The last 4 inches should be perfectly straight, and the nut/fitting should spin freely. Mine was kinked slightly and the nut turned but lightly grabbed. Cause me hell and probably an hour and half when trying to get it threaded correctly. 1) If you have smaller hands, you can do this from the top. DO THE FOLLOWING to remove the hose a) Remove the Air Intake hose. b) Use two thick moving blankets folded into 4 layers so 8 layers total and lay on top of engine - protects you and make more comfortable. c) Remove the return line with a 17mm wrench. I did not do this originally...I ended up having to later. Should have done it from the beginning...would have save me LOTS OF TIME AND FRUSTRATION. DO IT First. d) Use a cutting tool and cut the hose right by the Rack fitting. I used an Oscillating Muti-Tool, it cut the line in 2 seconds. Then I used 19MM socket to easily remove the fitting from the Rack. You can use a 19mm wrench...but is a waste of time 2) Follow the direction from the rest of the video to remove the rest of the hose. If you cannot get the 10mm bolts holding the line on the bottom. Cut them with a Multi-tool. I did get the 10mm nuts off but was never able to reuse them. I ended up zip tying. Save your frustration and cut them loose if they don't come off easy. 3) I did take the passenger tire off and pulled the hose out the side. I reinstalled from there as well. 4) IMPORTANT WHEN RE INSTALLING. - push the new hose in from the passenger tire SIDE DO NOT THREAD THE OTHER END OF THE HOSE UP TO THE PUMP YET. YOU WANT THE PIPE TO BE "FLEXABLE" TO HELP YOU LINE UP THE RACK FITTING. 5) GET A HELPER FOR THIS PART! with someone holding the hose by the passenger tire have them help you push and wiggle the hose, so it lines up with the rack. As you work from the top with a 19mm wrench or with your fingers tighten the fitting into the rack. Having the helper make sure there is no binding on the fitting hopefully will make it easy to get the fitting thread started. FYI Mine was more than 8 rotations. 6 wrench turns per rotation - more than 48 wrench turns. Be patient or take a break. 6) Attaching the return line for me was easy - just took a little time as you again had more than 50 wrench turns. 7) follow the directions from the video to attach the pump side, secure the hose, attach electrical connector. I hope this helps some of you. These are things I would have wanted to know in addition to the video. ~Mark

Today, the battery side stopped working altogether. @@PZPal I considered doing it, but then I realized that since the UPS and the PC were bought at the same time about 6 years ago, I'll be upgrading the PC before these batteries would run out - so I'd need a more robust UPS as well. I wound up going with an APC 1500va model (and the batteries on those are ridiculously easy to replace), but at some point I my wind up replacing the batteries on my CP 1200 to use elsewhere, and this will be of immense help.

    Bought some metal pulleys off Ebay. Watched your video several times, till I felt comfortable doing this project. Wife came out and helped some also. Got it done in 50 minutes. And I'm NO mechanic by any means. Wife said it probably saved us a bunch of money.

      Yes, if you don’t have recovery machine, you’ll have to take car to ac shop and have them remove Freon

    Where did you get those red car ramps? They seem like they would be a nice addition to my garage.

      Thanks for watching! Ramp is called Kwik-Lift. I'd say that they are as safe as it can get. New ones go for about $1800, but I found one on FB Marketplace for $500 or $600
