affixes need to go entirely. they were implemented at a time when m+ was running all of the expansions dungeons for the entire expansion. it's not like that anymore, so they have no point anymore

What a clear representation / projection of what M+ will turn into. Kind of depressing. Reminds me of some of the reasons why I stopped playing. I was considering coming back, but now I'm not sure. Also, not related to this video, one of the biggest design issues I have with the game is the limited camera view. I absolutely hated certain boss fights that would obscure the scene, forcing you to zoom into your character to avoid it. I've absolutely hated this since at least Cataclysm and it really feels on purpose.

Well, I bet you that the people in charge of creating the new Affixes and taking out/keeping certain old ones, either don't play the game much or they don't push keys and "iF" and this is a BIG IF, if they play the game they play a few low level keys just to test... but they don't really play the game, and this is a big problem. Blizzard used to have staff that loved the game and played it regularly... now you have a lot of diverse Devs caring more about wokeness instead of caring more about the game... We need Devs to bring the Passion back to their game instead of doing just a game. We would like to see the new Devs working on the War Within to have the same passion Ion Hazzikostas has... And I have saying for years(and many streamers) that having all positive Affixes that buffs the different parts of a Dungeon would be 100 times more fun than negatives one that make people get too stressed specially new generations of players that can't "cope" much with stress and have weak wills. So maybe increasing the HP of all mobs across the board to compensate for the increased dmg from possitive affixes that could increase Haste, Crit, straight dmg, or even give a extra Dots on successful casts or melee hits, etc would make the Dungeons Mega Fun. Not having to deal with Punishments, but instead of strategize where to use the possitive affixes to maximize performance... that would incredible FUN!.... :)

This is a GREAT video. The ultimate take away is that it does not matter WHAT you do to create balance, unless it involves balancing non-quantifiable utility first, it will not work. Either throughput balance is so bad that a spec is far enough ahead to ignore utility imbalance, or the options with the best utility are the meta. The fact that vengeance has still got 2 8 second back to back AOE silences even now in tww beta shows this simply has not sunk in. It does not matter what else they do - either the numerical imbalance is so bad that this utility is ignored, or it isn't and vengeance is the defacto only tank. These dichotomous utility scenarios are ubiquitous. This must be the main focus of balance if they ever want to have any chance of there not being an overwhelming meta.

happens in a lot of games/series. devs have no clue to make if more challenge and just throw artificial difficulty at the game. that all screams that they want to fu the 1% of the game but screw the rest 99% really hard.

Not only chaos brand but their chaos damage is all types so they get buffed every week as well

They are not Blizzard, my guy They now OWN Blizzard, but everyone who once put the buildings blocks of blizz is now gone, doing something else. They created a golem, an abomination, and then sold it. Stop addressing to blizz as if he was a man. And if you're addressing it to someone, say who. "Blizzard,please" ... you're a little *****, please.

If Blizzard really wanted to stop making people feel like they're forced into a meta for m+, the first thing they could do is stop dropping the keystone level when a dungeon goes bad. Why this is still a thing -- punishing ONLY the guy who puts their keystone in -- is beyond me. But yeah garbage affixes that are no fun to play don't really help the game. People are playing DESPITE these, not because they add fun to the game.

Lots of great points! The affixes they're getting rid of are the ones I hate the least, but I doubt I'll miss them to any degree beyond thinking, "I'd rather have those than these new ones." It's hard to argue against the idea that just entirely removing affixes would improve the M+ experience. Turning them into buffs sounds potentially fun. Maybe they could think of some effects that don't affect difficulty but just change the dungeons' overall feeling from week to week. Weather, NPC dialogue, things like that.

I dont understand how they thought this is a good idea. its like they want to reduce the pull of m+ players even more simply because they aint gonna get picked at all at certain weeks. this is beyond baffling. they dont encourage players to do m+ like that. horrible idea.

Blizzard is again so out of touch. How is it possible that such wrong ideas about the new affixes got approved by anyone? Don't they have some sort of expert players' feedback? It's making me not want to play the game.

Casters and healers do not "love" volcanic.

I don't think the Blizz team plays any mythic+ keys. I hope they listen to this and/or bring you in to help with their ideas.

I cannot agree more!! I am a casual that loves M+ until the affixes get to extreme. I usually quit the game for months because it's just not fun!! I can't imagine what Bliz is thinking here. Keep it simple. Keep 3rd affix at 10. KEEP CASUALS PAYING FOR THIER SUBS!!

I took a break from retail to play remix and i tried a m+ today because I still have to get the mount...such a pain, so boring to focus on the sh't for 30 mins just to get 12 crests. I left mid dungeon and i shut down the pc...

Quazii, what do you think about random affix generation upon key receival? That way, not every week would have a dominant class, but rather we'd have opportunity for everyone to shine in a specific group posting a specific key with a specific set of affixes. This is especially true when we have in mind the new affixes that were just announced. Assuming we get rid of badly designed and oppressive affixes, we wouldn't have to deal with "dead keys", so that's obviously a problem that has to be solved first.

So I’m technically still a new player. I started at the beginning of dragon flight but never got to level 70. And still questing in BFA. Would it be best to wait till TWW launch to come back or should I get going asap? Also do you have to make a new character at launch or does old characters transfer?

Thanks for the video, but please call it properly what it is. Aug 22 is the release date of expansion. Aug 26. is just delayed access for some of players.

These new affixes are laughable at best. So what.. you get more bleed damage on a certain weak against a caster mob.... What if there are few or no casters in the pulls or in the dungeon as a whole? It makes the extra work bringing a class that has bleeds pointless for the 3-4% damage you get overall for the dungeon.

IMO tanks should all shine in different areas and dungeons should be built around that. As an example Druids how they function are basically meat shields so lean into that have a dungeon do more melee damage ignore armor reduce self healing etc to really allow a druid to shine in that dungeon. Allow 1 tank to be a control tank, 1 tank to be the damage tank 1 to be the self healing tank etc. It allows people that wanna play tank which are few and far between a different flavor for each tank they play as most that play a tank tend to just play multiple tanks. I dont mind that DH's dominate at control the real issue IMO with that is they also dominate in dps and are the second highest self healing tank, the most mobile tank, have better damage reduction then some tanks. They are rated too highly in multiple categories is the issue if you want them to be most mobile and give them best control cool, make em squishier and or lower damage dealing then the other tanks.

100%, as a veteran wow player who keeps half a foot in the door, I saw those affix descriptions, started reading them, and decided I had better things to process through. Was disappointing to see but not surprising. I'm a main healer and in typical fashion it seems our experience bearing the brunt of most of the affixes is ignored. The heavy lifting if you will. "Enemies do more damage" "Enemies do more damage" "Enemies do more damage"... could we get some creativity? Quazii is right, when there are weeks of annoying or bad affix combos, I'm a player who just won't log in to play. And if the affixes are bad enough in TWW, will likely unsub. I enjoy a challenge but historically many affixes haven't been enjoyable challenges. It seems almost sadistic to have the evidence to show how disliked those +7 affixes are and keep them in. I really thought there would be a positive outcome after reading the "reduce cognitive load" comments. The experience, and imagined experience, is far from "refreshing".

I dodn't like m+ in df either. Too much bs going on and i got tired after a while... make the grind take less time I don't give a crap about affixes and cluter. How about 30 crest per run?

I would have NEVER been able to focus enough to figure this all out on my own. I feel very confident that I can not only tweak imported UIs to my liking, but possibly just make my own outright.
