    First question: How much extra USD premium did you pay to get "White Limba" instead of the regular variety? Secondly, Do you think it sounds the same as an Alder strat body? TIA!

    You could turn the pickup upside down and just drill whole in pickguard instead cutting the wood.

    I have a Fn awesome DM style warmoth...(blows any fender out of the water and to the moon), but i feel only 5 positions for those wonderful SD pickups just isn't enough. It's almost redundant imo... you can get damn near endless switching possibilities with 2 humbuckers. I feel like you should have at least 7/8 positions with an HHH setup.

    Do you still have that guitar? What do you think about the pickup height, isn't it just too low? I have ambivalent feelings with mine, it had many imperfections, too, especially with the bindings. And 2 frets were very high, I had to level them. Despite all of these, I think I like it. However, it offers a different experience than I was looking for initially. I expected a decent Junior, but this is a unique thing. (So, still looking for a decent Junior, sorry but no Gibson)

    • @arghGunnar
      @arghGunnar Před 8 měsíci

      I still have it, but I swapped the pickup for a Lace Alumitone.

  • @HaraldEngels
    @HaraldEngels Před 9 měsíci

    All way the Alumintone pickup. I love pickups with clarity and character for clean sounds and a good string tone separation when crunched. Not only in these categories the Alumitones shine, the dynamic is also fantastic and the sound of a guitar becomes less dependent on the input impedance of an amp or pedal with Alumitone pickups.

    • @ericv7720
      @ericv7720 Před měsícem

      @@Lomoholga2Through a chain of gain, effects, and compression, the difference in wood or other build material is negligible, but plugging straight into the amp, it's pretty noticeable. The real difference is less in the sustained tone than in the feel or attack. I've done it, swapping the same pickup in guitars with radically different wood (one being all maple, the other all mahogany, same scale length), at they sounded and felt way different. So yeah, do the science - maybe enough self-congradulatory comments on the internet will win you some followers. And I'll keep playing, and trusting my ears!

    Sir. Is it possible to install a seymour duncan nazgul humbucker as bridge with dimarzio tonezone humbucker as neck ? Would they have phase issue ? (Both 4 wired) since the resistence and output slightly different .

    • @arghGunnar
      @arghGunnar Před rokem

      Well you might get them out of phase, but then you need to swap the start and end wires on one of the pickups. And yes output volume might differ as well. I like to lower the middle pickup to get i out of the way of my picking, so I also like to have a more hot pickup in the middle to compensate. But try you might find the perfect tone... or burn your fingers while soldering and desoldering :)
