Hey, guys! Welcome to my CZcams channel! I am currently a student at Harvard. Most of my videos are going to be about fun stuff that my friends and I decide to do, though I will have some videos about college. I will try to upload at least every two weeks (lol that didn’t happen -2022 Chris), so feel free to subscribe if you enjoy my content!
cooking at Harvard is harder than the psets| Cooking Vlog #1 Harvard Edition #1
Because struggling through P-Sets wasn't enough, we decided to try out cooking! If you want to know the answers to the most difficult questions at Harvard, click here. How do you use whipped cream? Does 1 2/3 - 5/6 = 3?? Why did I buy so many eggs? How can I get rid of 21 eggs quickly (asking for a friend)? No seriously we have too many eggs. help

Harvard Freshman Dorm Tour 2019-2020
zhlédnutí 29KPřed 4 lety
Welcome to one of Harvard's first-year dorms! In this video, I'll be showing you guys the set-up for my suite in Straus Hall which I share with three other roommates. We have two bedrooms, a large common room, and an in-suite bathroom.
you are big kids now... cooking for yourselves. bravo.
for real... no dis from an extension school ALB grad...i spent 10 yrs-ish in night school in the extension school program, got a lib arts bachelors deg. had a great experience. All my best to you. Learn your ass off... Cheers!
For students who study outloud, is it better to have a single room?
Probably? But you can also indicate that you study out loud when you fill out the housing forms
Hi, after freshmen year, can you move your stuff to the "house" so u donot have to take them back home?
I don’t think so, but there are storage options around Cambridge or even through the school. After sophomore year, some houses may allow you to store stuff in the storage, but I just know that my house did not offer that
Hi! I applied REA for the Class of 2026, and I have a few questions regarding housing. Is it better to request a single room, double room or a suite for freshmen? I don't want to live alone my first year so I don't think singles would be a good idea for me personally, but which do you think is best, from your experience? Do you have any regrets about opting for a suite? Are there any drawbacks?
Hey! If I went back to freshman year, I would definitely go for a 4-person suite again: 1) There was more of a social atmosphere even when nothing is going on, and odds are you will get close to at least one of your suitemates if not all. Also, if you ever want to spontaneously go get food with someone, you can just ask one of your suitemates instead of texting a bunch of people. 2) In-suite bathrooms >>>>>> hallway bathrooms. 3) If you ever forget your keys or ID, odds are that there's someone in the dorm or nearby to let you in. 4) You can rely on your roommates to make sure you wake up after a nap or to stay motivated to finish work. A drawback is that you might end up with someone whose schedule does not match w/ yours (such as a difference in wake-up time > 3 hours), but I think this isn't the case most of the time. Also, cleaning the common spaces can be tough, but as long as you assign chores or make a schedule early on, then the entire suite almost always stays clean. With a double, you could get a bedroom and a common room, and you can convert the common room to the bedroom to have two singles. You and your roommate are likely going to be best friends or never see each other. I think all doubles use hallway bathrooms which can get gross if you use the men's room. With a single, you are guaranteed to have private space for yourself (if you actually get assigned to a single). You won't have any roommates to be friends with, but you'll make really close friends with people you don't live with anyways. The only downsides are hallway bathrooms, and if you are ever locked out, you need to get a security guard to let you into your dorm which can sometimes take over half an hour.
@@hichrisle7642 ooh thanks a lot! Yeah, I'm gonna scratch singles off the list, I wouldn't be able to handle living alone in my first year lol. Both doubles and foursies seem nice, I'll definitely keep your advice in mind when (if) I have to make a decision! 👍😀
Did you get accepted?
Pls make video of lounge area etc
Can we choose our roommates or its random?
freshman roommates are random, but upperclassmen houses generally let you choose your own roommates
Wow. These guys are cleaaaan and organized. Gotta say im impressed
Yeah unexpected for boys
wow
Where can you cook your own food?
There are several kitchens at some of the dorms and houses, but most on-campus residents just eat at the dining halls. Here’s a video of one of the kitchens if you want to check it out :) czcams.com/video/whEWcZ-xDzY/video.html
Was that fridge and couch given by Harvard or ya guys bought it??
One of my roommates brought the fridge from home, and we bought the couch together.
Hey! Does the school provide a fridge and a microwave or you have to get it on your own? Nice vid btw
hey! fridges and microwaves are not provided so we either need to provide our own, rent a mini microwave-fridge unit, or you could just live without one. for my freshman year, my roommate brought a fridge, and I just used my neighbor’s microwave or a common room’s microwave when I wanted to make Kraft mac and cheese
@@hichrisle7642 can We Renovate the dorm?😂
Do u have air conditioners(A.C) in your dorm??
nope, we need to get our own fans for the summer or else it’s really hot
@@hichrisle7642 so is that same for all universities?
no, I’m pretty sure most of the other universities in the US have dorms with AC. at Harvard, it’s only warm for about a month or two, and then the weather gets colder. For that, we do have heaters.
@@hichrisle7642 that's good!!
you have the same slippers as I have XD
What a fking coincidence even I have those same pairs lol
@@ironicallynarcissistic833 lol XD you are a funny dude/dudett/etc
You can’t get a single dorm when ur a freshman at Harvard ?
You can if you indicate it on the housing form. However, they’re not guaranteed, especially if a lot of people want to have a single that year as well
HiChrisLe thank u for responding
Я хочу😍.
Did you request for a suite or were you just given one?
hi! I requested a suite instead of a single because I thought it would be more fun, but singles can also be requested, though I’m pretty sure that option is less popular for first years
HiChrisLe ooo ok cause i just committed to be part of the class of 2024 and i wasn’t sure how it went in regards to requesting suites or singles
oh wow! congrats!!
