I got the pre production number 4 out of 10 of their walnut guitar and it is my favorite guitar by far. These things are worth every penny. Absolutely beautifully crafted and amazing playability and sound

Great video, thanks! I am 67 now and have also started lowering my guitar 1/2 step for some songs. I'm totally new to partial capos, though -- someone just recently showed me the trick of putting a Kyser on backwards to get shifted DADGAD tuning and I was blown away -- I'll be getting the Shubb though since it's a much cleaner solution.

I've stayed away from buying a 12 string because of this very reason...also there's only one song I know to play that was originally recorded on a 12. Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive". Also 12's are REALLY expensive ($1,500) and not always in stock at my local music shop.

Nothing like the sound of a 12 string acoustic.

Great guitars thanks for the video - Just be careful Santos is not a Rosewood species. Santos or other times called Morado, is not technically a Dalbergia species- they have some similarities in color and its often sold on the furnature market as a substitute for Brazilian RW. - Just clarifying incase people are in the market lots of makers (not saying Bridgeport) will "market" woods to sell guitars that are affordable for them to make. Keep up the great work on your videos.

Great suggestion! Thanks! I just recently acquired a Levin/Martin W 12-38 built ca 1977. I am the second owner of this guitar. It sounds so sweet! This series was built by hand in Sweden after Martin bought Levin. Matin’s contribution to the design is apparently the double truss rods. An intriguing instrument.

Mellow, warm and tranquil. It is a beautiful sounding instrument. Your demonstration of its capabilities was exquisite.

Really great lesson! Partial capos are great and I hack my own Shubbs (love them). Also really dig your Emerald, even the color, and I’m not usually a fan of teal.

What do you mean with alternate tuning systems? In my understanding alternate tuning systems mean f.e. 1/4-comma-meantone, well-tempered or microtonal tunings etc., i.e. tunings that aren’t available with frets?

When i started playing guitar in 2011 at 44. i bought a S6 and still to this day love that guitar.. Great guitar for a budget..

My least favorite guitar and the sound compared to my Yamaha isn't even close . Got to sell it first chance I get .

Really cool Seagull S6. I’ve never seen that blue/green color. I own a couple of Seagulls, one being the S6 original and the other an Entourage Rustic which has the 1.72 nut. The S6 original has the 1.8 nut. These guitars were bought new around 2012. Only recently have I set my beloved Seagulls aside, after buying a Yamaha concert size Red Label fs3. I will say that the Yamaha is a whole different level of guitar for not much more than the Seagulls. The Seagull S6 Original cost me $420 new and the Entourage was about a hundred less. I mean, those guitars were a great value for all wood and built right in Canada. I never thought my S6 Original had that ‘cool’ factor, but the one you have is one of the more cool looking guitars I’ve seen from any guitar company.

I own an X30 that makes me wish it had been the first guitar I had purchased instead of my last.

Todd, thanks for a great video. The tone is the best I've heard so far on the X20 ! I'm considering an X20 or X30. I had a chance to try an X30. I liked it but it left me wondering what the X20 would sound and feel like.

Excellent review! How do you only have <80 subscribers???? Keep this up. Please! I got my x20 a year ago but I would have liked to see your review before the purchase. The interesting thing about the x20, besides being awsome to play (My two Martins are not getting enough exercise these days), is how it has changed how I think about guitars. I no longer care about tonewoods, bracing, humidity levels, risks of transportation, and other woodguitar related worries. This is next level stuff! I may buy other wood guitars for gigging - for Emerald is a bit too pricey to be put before a drunk and disorderly public - but for my own private use, there will only be carbon.
