    • @ottopilot6536
      @ottopilot6536 Před 6 měsíci

      If you mean the city, yes, it does. However.... Kingston is an AI-autogen city, meaning they don't have proper photogrammetry data. All streets are there. Every single building in Kingston (and the world) is there. The footprint of the building is accurate, the height is accurate (from open source map data) although the building itself will just be a generic asset modified by AI to fit its footprint and fit the area. So residential areas will have houses, commercial / industrial will have correct type of building. That said, other cities that do have proper photogrammetry data like Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal, and other large major cities, will have all the correct buildings at correct heights. I now use a 3rd party model for the airport that is a detailed recreation of CYGK including the interiors of the terminals, correct signage, etc.

    I have the recommended setup of 2 Wimaxit touchscreen monitors for the Air Manager displays, but can only get one to work because I have only 1 HDMI connection available on the video card and 1 USB-C connection on the motherboard. Note that I have 2 available DPs. Therefore for the monitor that doesn't work yet, I bought an HDMI-to-Display Port adaptor. Providing that gives me video for the monitor, how do I get the touchscreen function to work when I only have one USB-C and it is already being used for the other Wimaxit? Hey! KORL is my home airport haha. Question - I'm having issues with the Vision Jet's GTC 580 pop out panels and a Wimaxit monitor. I can't interact with them by touch, only via mouse (the pop out windows). I have touchscreen input and click-through selected in Air Manager. For example, I touch the numbers on the comms page, but it only highlights the numbers, instead of actually pressing them. This happens with the home PFD/MFD buttons too, it only highlights them and doesn't press them. Any thoughts?

    • @ottopilot6536

      The sim doesn't support touch input natively. Look into Popout Panel Manager, a 3rd party add on. It will automatically pop out and place your windows for you, and gives you the option to have touch support as well so you can use the GTCs as intended - with touch.

      Unfortunately, there's still no touch in the sim. And according to one of the devs that replied to me on the devsupport forum, this won't be happening any time soon - if ever. I use Popout Panel Manager (available on flightsim.to) to manage popouts. It gives you the the option of enabling touch support on popouts with a touch to mouse emulation layer. Didn't realize that you, Ivan and Russ are all familiar with one another. Awesome. So, my question now is regarding the knobster earlier mentioned. You mentioned to me about the setup for DIY you did. Could I ask which of the plastic boxes (on Amazon) you would recommend for the knobster? Also, how difficult is it to get it made as I'm not too crafty on those kinds of things dealing with electronic-wise. @@ottopilot6536 Hi, Joe. Thank you for your thoughts as I probably will just purchase one that is already made. Here's the problem or issue I just realized. Perhaps you can offer insight on it, as I'm reading conflicting articles. A little more background....Currently, I have 2 iPads (minis, which suit me fine in regards to size and availability of space). Both have AM installed and seem to be fully functional in sending / receiving data between each other and my computer. One for the Cessna 6 pack and associated gauges; the other for the radio stack and the smaller GPS (can't recall names exactly at the moment), etc. So, what I've read is that the Knobster will NOT work on iPad version of AM. I will need to pay a monthly (or 1 time purchase of like $245) subscription based software called Duet for that to enable compatibility. To avoid that option, can I purchase the computer version of AM and be able to pop out (as you described) the panels to the iPads for the Knobster to work correctly, or am I needing to disregard the iPad and go with straight touchscreen monitors? Yes, some may think it is "cheap"; but I look at it as being resourceful with money versus options so that I can do more with the money rather than pay more for.... redundancy. In short, what am I, or what is my best option, to do in order to utilize the Knobster - based off of what I currently have? Sorry for the confusion (if any) and rambling on. I'm just trying to give the best mental picture in hopes that I can help you ... help me. 😀 Thank you again. Take care and have a great day. -- Matthew

    I get ATIS but not the tower or ground comes. Do you have an add on? Great panel you made. Also thinking about putting Air Manager on 2d computer, big machine for scenery. Is that a good idea? Chan

      @ottopilot6536 Před rokem

      Well, unfortunately that's not much info to go on. Several smaller uncontrolled airports have no ground or tower, but have ATIS. So I don't know. At the time I shot this, I wasn't using any ATC add-ons. Nowadays I use PIlot2ATC. As for running Air Manager on another computer, you most certainly can. No reason you can't. Although if you use sim popouts for things like GPS and such, you can't bring those screens over to a separate computer.

      @@ottopilot6536 I had read that it is possible to improve FPS with 2 computers. I’m using only 3 tv’s and 2 touchscreens with Honeycombs. Air Manager is super and I’m trying to master the Msfs pop out software, trying to eliminate mouse n keyboard. Thank you for the many contributions to our sim flying you have made. I’ll look into Pilot2ATC also..

      @@clofland5214 On a sim like Xplane, you're able to run the software itself across multiple computers. You can run the main simulation on one machine, and run the displays off another. This goes a long way towards improving overall performance and frame rate. MSFS doesn't have the capability to do that unfortunately. As for running Air Manager, it's a pretty low resource application and itself won't affect your performance in any meaningful way. Moving it to another computer limits the versatility of your cockpit (no more popout windows from the sim in Air Manager) and gains you very little in terms of performance.

      @DownTheRabbit-Hole Před rokem

      I use ASUS 21.5 Touchscreen. Works fine. Around $200. The Planar is probably a better product but more expensive. You might even consider Dell 24". If you fly VJ then there is no yoke in the way and 24' might be better.

    • @ottopilot6536
      @ottopilot6536 Před rokem

      @@DownTheRabbit-Hole Indeed. Planar are a good choice not necessarily because they're better, but because they have the kickstand mount. They can sit flat on a table / desk without needing any special mounts, as well as having standard VESA mounting holes. Overall for touch panels for AM, it's really about fitting the biggest you can fit into your budgetary and size restrictions.

    @Otto Pilot, you mentioned the G3000 project. Is that going to be distributed as an X-Plane add-on/plug-in, or an instrument for Air Manager?

      Just Air Manager overlays. Simstrumentation do MSFS only. Although with all the heavy lifting done in terms of graphics and interaction, it would be easy for someone in the community to add the events and / or datarefs from XP to any of our stuff. And some folks have.

      Different birds for different missions. But in the end, FlightFX planes are really outstanding. Once they can incorporate the new AAU I G3000 into the HJet, it will no longer need those hacks to get the EIS and PFD split screen. At that point, I think it will have hit its stride properly.

I've got 113 hrs on the HJet right now. I've been flying pretty much all day everyday since then. With the work you did on the GTC's it's a lot more fun. I need to get back on the Vision Jet again though. This is a very happy old man now. Too many toys to play with. The only redeeming quality of being stuck in this infernal chair is I get to fly to my heart's content. LOL

My file in the community folder is version .13 which i believe is the most current one. I came back to your video to see if i could find a crumb to follow but no luck.
