I just picked up a 1998 KV-20V50, very similar to this. I noticed the left side of the TV the picture droops a bit, and there's some slight red/blue bleed because of it. I've never serviced a crt, but I'm watching videos today to learn what I need to do to fix this.

I'm pretty sure I had one of these as a kid in my room with a gamecube hooked up to it, it was either this or another type of old box tv but regardless, I remember the high-pitched sounds they produced when powered on quite well lol. The noise never bothered me, but I would use that sound to be able to tell if the tv was still on in another room. I also remember fondly that if I lifted my arm up to the screen the hair would stand up to meet up (static electricity, I think). I will admit I do prefer the lightness and size of modern flatscreens, but I remember these types of tvs fondly still

Any difference in the KV2020R version?

I heard that the Sony Trinitron isn't good for playing ps2 games because it has input lag, and they say its like playing on an lcd tv.

I have the Sony trinitron kv 1380r the smaller 13” version of that also made in 1987

Nice this one is true stereo. Many of these 13" with dual speaker appearance are actually mono.

Just curious is that the OEM remote for this CRT or is the RM-Y180 a universal sony remote. i was lead to believe the original is the rm-Y173. im just curious because im trying to find a remote for this TV.
