New Holland LX Skidsteer Seat Belt Switch and Boom Lock Bypass
This video shows how to bypass the interlock solenoids and seat belt switch on any new Holland LX series skidsteers. If anything in that circuit has any issues the machine won't start and the pedals will be locked, the service switch should allow you to start and move it but even that didn't work on mine. I am not liable if you don't use your seatbelt and get hurt or if you climb out of the machine with the boom raised and step on the pedal and get hurt. This is just to help if you're in a bind.

    Don't want to run it that way to long because it will wreck your instrument panel and they are getting really hard to find

      I may be wrong, but this should just be bypassing the instrument panel and sending power directly to the boom lock solenoids. The panel should be working the same as before the bypass(still sending or not sending power to the solenoids). I haven't had a single breakdown or seatbelt/boom lock problem in 3years now.

    I just added a toggle switch inline on the seat frame on the side of the seat using the seatbelt switch wires. You have to toggle it everytime you get out of the seat but Im used to it now. It also serves as a quasi theft deterrent.

      Our old lx565 had the toggle switch that worked well. On this machine with the seatbelt switches working, the machine would start but the boom lock solenoids wouldn't disengage.

    Does this work in the l555 deluxe

      I'm not familiar with them but if they have the same style locking solenoids for the pedals with 2 wires going into them it should work.

    So how in the hell are you supposed to get to an absolutely dead battery if you can’t lift the boom up because it is locked by these things?

      @@sammarsceau6635 Thank you so much! I am working on an L185 I just bought and it is a totally different animal than the other skid steers I have.

    My 185 starts with seat belt on and then instantly shuts the machine off . I believe through fuel shut off I would love to create a bypass. I did this on my L785 and eliminated this nightmare problem . Help me please

    • @sammarsceau6635
      @sammarsceau6635 Před rokem

      Since it let's it start, the seatbelt should be fine. Could be fuel shutoff, you could run 12volts to the shutoff to see if it will stay running with constant power to it. If not it could be an ignition switch problem. Maybe a connection issue in the run position of the switch? After that maybe the fuel lift pump?

    Why can't we remove the solenoid all together on the bucket / boom so it can't lock and just jump the plug at the end..

    • @sammarsceau6635
      @sammarsceau6635 Před rokem

      You can do that. The boom solenoid was already removed on mine, but still has the bucket solenoid. I wanted to be able to switch it on and off, so if I climb out with something picked up on the forks I don't dump it off. I don't know that you'd even need to jump the wires if you do pull them off completely.

    Perfect to get the boom up and lock it to get most of the work done and even to tilt the cab

    Watching this video while parked dead in the middle of the road because the seat belt switch decided the crap out in the middle of moving fire wood. So glad I am safe...

    Does the seat belt switch affect fuel delivery

    I’d like to give you a sincere thank you! Too many safety Nazis in this world. Everyone should be responsible for there own actions! I’m gonna bypass my interlocks now. If I die or get hurt….. it’s all my fault! You are not responsible sir. Thank you again!

    Some may say it is unsafe but I’ve been pushing brush down a steep hill and the boom locked up from all the shaking about got impailed by the brush. I decided it’s much safer to be able to count on the Hydrolics to move when you want them to plus all the frustration of being dead in the water. We must be careful with the foot pedals though

    I prefer to replace the seatbelt switch with a cheap aftermarket replacement complete seatbelt. NH Europe wants megabucks for a genuine replacement but one from a seat specialist cost me about $20. In an emergency a switch could replace the seatbelt itself but requires to be toggled every time you sit down.

      @@jeffreymeguiar4698 I'm not familiar with those models. But if yours has the same solenoid blocks as mine you might be able to remove them. You can see at 1:20 in the video where one of mine was already taken off. You just wouldn't be able to toggle them on and off.

    Nice. I liked that you made it switchable on and off so you still have the ability to manually disable the boom when you need to.
