Jimmy, how are you related to Kim? I was friends with her many years ago.
Comments from Professor of Rock brought me here ! Solid track!!!!!!
Same here!
😍
😍
I would put Jimmy Ryser in the same class as John Mellencamp. Very talented singer and songwriter.
Wanna John cougar favorite dudes man
T You definitely had the most beautiful eyes, Summer of 90 changed my life, I know you'll never see this comment but I'll never forget your smile or that look in your eyes
rock on live on jimmy 🤙👍🤟🤟🤙✌
I seen Jimmy at the Kokomo Civic Center in the early 90's. Only maybe 100 people. Great show.
THP brought me here!
mi-aduc aminte de liceu...!
From Columbus, IN
I remember seeing you play at cera land campground in Columbus, Indiana way back when
Josh adams way back web is right!!!
I saw Jimmy playing at the 4th St Bar a few years ago. Though in poor health, he still played and sounded great.
Matt Kustom Kostumes I’m better these days and thank u!!!
Iubesc melodia asta...
Like others who have commented here already, I have good memories of this song from about 1990. Summertime, riding in an old black Datsun 280 with my dad, on that stretch of 46 between Columbus and Nashville.
Thompsongs, I still get laughs when I tell people Gnawbone, Indiana is a real place!
Lol my memories were the first time I heard myself on the radio (dream come true ~ Kristi Lee and Q95!) and suddenly people coming up to me asking for an autograph. It was weird!
@@JimRyser It's very cool to hear from you Jim! If we're ever in the same whereabouts, I've got a vinyl copy of your album (with one or two record store stickers still on it) that would be made even better with your autograph, if you're willing. - J. Thompson
@@mattkaustickomments I had no idea it existed until I actually moved to that area (not far from the twin lakes), in 1995. There are lots of things I'd love to revisit about those days - without having to be that age again.
@@Thompsongs So cool that Jim posted here! Anyhoo, I literally 'drew/traced' every building in the Town of Nashville, and separately every building in Brown County, when I worked for an Urban Planning / Landscape Architecture firm in the early 90's. I hand-inked a series of map overlays for inclusion in a Comprehensive Plan for the County and Town 'book'. The drawing sizes were 48" x 36" or something huge like that and had to be photographed by a special large-format camera. I did not know about the Twin Lakes til I worked on the project, and wound up driving almost every road in Brown County. When the proposed Plan was finally revealed to a packed audience - the residents lost their sh!t!! They did not like the idea of concentrating nodes of new housing together around existing habitation at crossroads (which made sense logistically). Even in a relatively liberal place such as Brown County (famous for attracting artists and craftspeople) my ex-hippie bosses had not considered the 'I moved here because I want to be in the country and NOT have any neighbors' mentality. I doubt if any of the ideas presented ever were incorporated. However, my same firm did make planning recommendations to Jimmy Ryser's home town of Columbus, IN, that were laughed at initially, but now, 25 years later have been successfully incorporated - redoing the downtown streetscapes, bringing housing back to the upper stories of Washington Street businesses, bringing a luxury hotel downtown, providing areas for outdoor sidewalk dining, etc. Our firm was also behind the new Interchange at I-65 and the trail system that connects to downtown, plus the successful renovation of Mill Race Park.
Guam, 1990.....
C130 LM That’s cool to me!!
Indiana musician. A true talent. Excellent song writer. Doesn't perform much these days. Health issues.
Stephen Elkins and just getting old!!!
Amazing person. These days he helps people overcome addictions and is an avid hunter. Super cool individual. Glad to call him my friend.
He's actually from Cleveland, Ohio.....but he sure acts like a Hoosier.....we've adopted him as such 😁
Sonny tbone -- I listen to that station all the time.
First time i heard this was summer 1990 Rockford il. 97wzok. I was 14. Wish i can go back 2 that year.but cant turn time back
Sonny Chicago 773 pretty cool!!
I remember that concert WZOK put on at the airport that he performed at that summer, but I couldn't go to it because you had to be 21 or older & I was 17 at that time, & you had to have an invitation to get in. 😒 33 years & way better than the garbage that ZOK plays today!
beautiful song !
Great Jimmy
OARE CE ANUME DERANJEAZA ACEST SENTIMENT???? cred eu ca afacerile... strict fara apriori, ci doar o logica simpla; LUMINA IUBIRE SI CONSTIINTA... DIVINE !
This was my summer of 1990 song. I was going through a break up with my girl friend at the time
Loop Garoo mine too!!!
Ironically I got married then. Sorry
Great song.
You couldn't have been six, j1980boy1, this was released in 1990. You were ten then.

rocco gallucci Thanks Rocco!
I heard this song when I was like maybe 6 it was the hook that stuck with me because I never heard it again since then, until tonight I'm 33 now. OVER 27 years now I've been looking for this song when I didn't have anything to do and now the search is over WOW!
j1980boy1 you made my day.
Jimmy was one of my counselors in rehab! Great guy.
What a great song.
Saw Jimmy at the Indiana State Fair in 1990. He was so amazing. Of all the "indiana" music coming out at the time (Henry Lee Summer, John Mellencamp, etc)....Jimmy Ryser's songs always MOVED me.
Joel Kurdys I write songs for The Hunting Public now!!
@@JimRyser I really wish you'd have been able to see Joel's comment sooner, I'm his daughter and was also at that concert .. You're a great talent and with what our family was going through at the time your lyrics rang right through to our hearts. Thank you for getting us through some tough times. Sadly though, Joel passed away April last year but I do know that your reply would have lit him up and put a child like sparkle of joy in his eyes! Thank you so much for your response, Truly grateful-- Brandi
Brandi Swallows thanks Brandi - wish I would have been able to give you both that smile!
@@JimRyser You have, Through many years of singing our hearts to mend, he always told me I was "Benny". I used to sneak in foster care and call and sing him this one though because I wondered if he'd have that look or be so mad and hate me at the next visit.. anyway the laughing at my squeaky lil voice on the old answering machine tapes brought those smiles and I can't thank you enough for what your music got me through so long ago.
