Rather than ironing, get a piece of mat board the same size as your finished artwork (you may need to trim off the white boarders of what they send you). Spray one side of the mat board with 3M spray glue, evenly and consistently across the entire board taking several strokes across. Carefully affix your artwork on the glue side of the mat board, using your fingers to smooth out any wrinkles. You will have a wrinkle free surface to work on and not need to worry about the heat affecting the piece.

You could always seal the diamonds after you put them on. That way,they won't fall out!!

Good Video! Just out of curiosity, I wonder if you can use the heat and then take the edge of an old credit card and smooth them out instead of fingers. That method is used for smoothing window tint, it might work for that too. Try that experiment sometime on one of your videos.

So glad I found this video. Thanks for doing this. I got a diamond painting in that has some really bad deep wrinkles and the canvas is a stiff type, not the softer canvases I've had. The wrinkles are so bad that heavy college text books aren't helping at all. 😊 At least now I know just what to do to fix my canvas!

I first roll the canvas the opposite way. Leave a few minutes. Then dry iron on really low. Gradually increasing the temp after each pass. I love the diamond drill stuff with bigger pieces, like half pearls and so on. Usually for kids. But easier on the eyes! Enjoyed your video.

U can get the diamond art stuff on temu. Even the sealer glue. U can also use hairspray. Not the pump

I've tried ironing the canvas with a cool iron and ruined 2 paintings so I've gone back to putting them under a heavy weight for a couple of days.

The iron looks like a skillet. Can you explain how hot it gets even though there is no fire? How fast can u warm up a tortilla?

I use Elmer's clear glue in the bottle with a sponge brush. Never had a problem with the shine of the diamonds after drying overnight.

Do you have any suggestions for a wavy canvas that's completed? After this video, I'll never be starting a canvas that isn't flat. Thank you for sharing your tips.

Deborah I have to say THANK YOU SO MUCH I did a little partial sticky pic on a board it was my very first diamond picture and oh my days I’m addicted lol 😂 I did it in 2 days well 2 evenings I’m on bedrest at the moment as been in hospital so I was so so bored 😐 and my mum got me my first kit I’ve since Friday ordered another 4 kits but when my highland cows wedding kit came and it was on plastic not gunna lie I felt out of my depth haha this video has definitely given me the confidence and inspiration to get started I went straight out after watching you video for the first time (yes I’ve watched it 3 times so far ) o ram pit to get some Washi tape now going to watch it again haha once again thank you so much I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge and experience with me ❤❤

You can also use a dry eraser board marker. The type of marker you use to write on white board, dry eraser board.

Totally loved the Christmas girl DP. I've seen that one on sites and thought it cute but it looks so much better actually completed. The wolf is also magnificent. Oh I can't stand 310 drills. I've had some horrible black drills before that scarred me hahaha. Not sure either why they are always bad but Drew's suggestion made sense. I've also thought maybe because with black being so dark it's hard to see clearly if they have been cut neatly. I don't know. But it drives me crazy!! I agree with your tip at the end of the video about saving the cover paper or plastic. I always do that and it comes in really handy. Do you mind if I ask you how you contracted Covid-19. That's if you know. Did you find it took you quite a while to get back to normal even after you had recovered. Enjoyed watching. You seem to enjoy life. Good to see.
