Nope, people used to nap, wake up, do... things for a few hours, and then go back to sleep
If you think about it from the perspective of today… At around five or 6 PM when it starts to go dark, if there wasn’t any light to get anything done… The only thing that they could do outside of lighting, a candle was sleep. And when it’s naturally dark, our bodies want to stay asleep, and then, when the sun rises, you’re likely to get up and start moving. But without any light, it’s virtually impossible to get anything done while you’re awake.
Just because the sun goes down doesn't leave sleep as the only option... look up fist and second sleep, Charles Dickens spoke of it

i’m sure that was the case for some people! Biologically, speaking, not everyone is worth the same way, so for some, it does take them six or seven hours and then they’re up and wanting to move around. However, the point that I was trying to make is without any sun… And without any light… People naturally would work up until the sun would go down, and then there was nothing really that they could do so they would sleep, and then naturally wake up when the sun would rise. So their circadian rhythm was based on the sun, not necessarily lights like it is today for our society.

Hi Bri! Thanks for this review! How doable do you feel this is for folks who work a regular 40 hour week?
Hi Alyssa! The key to doing this while working a 40 hr gig is time management! It's important to plan accordingly each day so you're not stuck having to do 2-4 rules right before going to bed. So my tip is try to wake up early and knock out 2-3 the first few hours before work and space the rest out throughout the day. Lastly, if you know you have a hangout in the evening after work, make sure you plan for that and finish most of your tasks before the hangout. Hope this helps!
