They never tested the off-road version of the CX-5. Also, Mazda states the CX-5 is not meant for serious off-road operation. The newer CX-50 with off-road software apparently is the best they offer now, but they never tested it. Amazing to me is the Mazda with only a 6 speed automatic and technology dating back to 2012 still got the best gas consumption of these four cars. Sometimes old tech with an engine is the most economical apparently.

I'm only 8 mins into this. How do you figure this is an equal competition? After the Nissan screwed up. It's all downhill for anyone after him. 2 nd are these different drivers? You should have an experienced off road driver. Driving all of the vehicles to make it more equal.

The Pathfinder driver is horrible. I have a 3rd Gen and been in worse conditions and made it.

This is controlled.. most SUVs can't do off road when in nature... computer is not nature... again use the same drivers who knows about all the cars being tested. Most off road cars are actually tarmac or meant for paved roads... these can't manage extreme off roads.. that's why off roaders modify SUVs for adventure otherwise they will be stuck in the wild. New SUVs straight from the showroom will fail you. Don't go off road alone in these luxury SUVs...😊...otherwise nice comparison... I like volvo and audi🎉

So modern and so expensive cars, and worth absolutely nothing in nature. Except the Land Rover of course and possibly the Jeep. Great car. And the Land Rover is SO MUCH better looking, to say the least. I also like older BMW X5's. The others were clearly made for gravel roads, never off-roading. Bad tires, too low, not enough clearance. Software made for light snow on asphalt and a bit of mud on the way to the mall or hauling a horse trailer. Thanks for sharing.
