Great job regardless. I feel you pain with the stain. I’m in the I’m making a wood wall and had the same issue, so I just purchased another color to hopefully correct the issue. Wood glue would work better but excellent job nonetheless. I would try staining again or mixing the stains you have, you may come out with a color you like

You've done a great job and it looks really nice. My only concern is your electronics overheating in the cupboard.

Its not ment to be long term ,its a temporary look ,it depends on the quality of the paper and the application, but its just a fun cheap way to change your countertop, just done mine in a wood look and chalked the edges ,looks great for now.

It was just a cheap film. Buy one which in thicker and more expensive and you’ll get awesome quality for years

I've also heard countertop paint kits are a better option that's still relatively affordable

Or U could just buy the paint kit from gone depot and irl look the exact same 🤦🏾‍♀️

I did this with faux butcher block paper from an Italian company called Artesive. It wore like iron and looked very convincing. Super thick and sticky, so it was like wrestling a grizzly bear covered in bubble gum to install, but in the end, it was all worth it.

I would suggest the painting kit or even the stone spray

I really do understand it’s “not that deep” but it’s frustrating to watch someone not understand what they did is the issue- you did it all wrong- then you made it sticky by using the wrong cleaning solution- some chemicals break down the vinyl- hence the sticky. they are meant to be replaced after a few years- there’s no logic in believing these would last as long as any actual counter- I’m 4 years into mine- they look great- and I’m not even that gentle on them.

It all depends on how you take care of.

U could always paint it, I’ve seen so many videos where ppl paint the fake marble like that, make sure u caulk those send it seems are rough… hope everything works out for u

This saved me. I was going to do dollar store contact paper and not install it half as perfect as you did. That would be stressful. The line ups are taxing.

Don’t cheap out on the vinyl wrap. Also I would do a ceramic or graphene coating on top to make it easier to clean and it’ll last much longer

LOL, you made me laugh because I just finished a small table that I was so excited about and proud of. I took my time picking out the stain and thought I had it right. OMG. It's so orange I can't stand it. I don't have the energy to stain it again so I'll live with it for now. Next time I'll get a big piece of the same wood and stain that first.

Use Car Wrap

Cover contact paper with polyurethane, it works for kitchen and bathroom...or use peel and stick floor tiles and go over with caulking
