How to Fully Service a 4x4 Utility Vehicle (All Fluids and Filters) - Kubota RTV-X1140
In this video, I show how to fully service a Kubota RTV-X1140. This includes changing the engine oil, transmission case fluid, hydraulic fluid, fuel filter, coolant, air filters, and gear oil. I also show all of the grease points.
Additionally, I discuss how a hydrostatic transmission works and explain some of the nuances regarding how to service it. These points are not outlined clearly in the operator's manual.

      It sounds like you put engine oil in the transmission case. Yes it needs to be drained. There are two drain plugs under the vehicle. Skip to the part of the video where I serviced the transmission case and you'll see what I'm talking about.

      Hi, First of all, make sure that your fan is AC not DC. 1. You may connect your AC adaptor directly to the two terminals of the fan to test, or 2. You may disconnect the fan from the housing and then test the continuity of the two terminals using a multimeter. Good luck!

    Is there only one drain for the auxiliary hydraulic? Or, Is there a drain on the bottom side of the hydraulic pump? Similar to the transmission case?

    • @TheEscondidoExperiment
      @TheEscondidoExperiment Před 13 dny

      All of the hydraulic implements on the machine use the fluid stored in the hydraulic tank, not the transmission case. To change this fluid you just need to pull the drain plug that I showed in the video. There is no need to do anything to the hydraulic pump.

    • @TheEscondidoExperiment
      @TheEscondidoExperiment Před měsícem

      R134a is much heavier than air. Because of this, disconnecting the line for 10 seconds to put UV dye in is not going to cause the refrigerant to be displaced by air. It's totally insignificant. There was no need to purge the line again.

The same is true for your demo of changing the coolant. My question is: Is it safe to use a car hoist to lift at the frame rails?

    • @TheEscondidoExperiment
      @TheEscondidoExperiment Před 2 měsíci

      I assume you're talking about raising the whole vehicle from four points so that you can stand underneath it. As long as these points are on the frame, I see no reason why this would be a problem. The frame is going to be particularly strong around where the control arms for the four wheels connect to it. I would look around this area for the best lifting points.
