In this video you can see timing chain replacement of a diesel engine from VAG group. Audi A6 2006 2.7 TDI CR engine. The reason for the replacement is beacuse on start ups the chains made noise, thats because the tensioners were not doing their job properly. Audi claimed that the timing chains last 300,000 km, not many people have closer this. By the way, why it has to be in the back of engine make so difficult for us the mechanical to do the work?

I did this job the other day including cam cove gaskets - took me forever!

I dont believe that on a audi is easier to remove the transmission then the engine and make it properly as per book. On a bmw on a straight six its another matter. Audi transmissions are much bulkier because it contains front differential transfer box and quattro all in one big body. It make no sens to remove the transmission in audis to replace the chains unless you removed it in order to repair/maintenance it.

yes
I tried that and I changed the spark. Engine is starting, but when I want to revv it, It won't, and a burning smell come from the cover, more exactlly the V6 24V cover. What can it be?
It seems coil burned or a wire...
what sort of millage will these engines do , is it all over at 150k ,

They came with a plastic tube, that means they are pre-gaped but it's always good to check the gap
Maranelo Service Spark plugs are for diferents aplications. Pre-graped from NGK, and each engine needs his gap.

Amazing job, you have skills. I want to ask you, since you work with Alfa Romeo, what is better : Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1.6 JTDm-2 or Alfa Romeo 159 1.9 JTDm ? Its about same price, and same year.
Of course 1.6 JTDm-2, its waay more realible then 1.9 JTDm, and 320NM its hell of power ;)
1.6 JTDm-2 will destroy 1.9 JTDm

Great work guys... does a6 4f 2.7 tdi facelift 2009 has the same problem like pre facelift 2.7 tdi 3.0 tdi engines ?
I would not call that a problem. That is more like owners mistake. Not using proper oil spec, not changing the oil on time etc. I think that the same engine is in the facelift too

changing oil filter on CF3 is pain in a neck but not such as in CF2

You need to clean that engine and get it detailed. And offcourse make a video of the process :)
How long does it take to replace and put engine back into the car?
About 2 days. We didn't remove the engine. Just removed exhaust and gearbox
did you put the front in service position or did you leave the front bumper mounted?@@maraneloservice2828
@@p__hag1087 It was in service because it had oil leak from the crankshaft seal so it had to come off but you don't need to remove it for timing chain replacement
