    So thankful for your videos. I’m think I’m just a few weeks away from being finished. 3+ years after starting….one question, when you lay the profiles down, do you leave a small gap between the tape and the trim? Or did the tape somehow pull out of the profiles?

      Hey there @claytonsaunders3177 !! Thank you for watching, and congratulation on your build, you'll be on the road in no time! I left a small gap between the trim and the tape, so when I sealed the sides with proflex, I had a nice clean look when I peeled the tape. Thanks again, AL

    Could you have used adhesive + self-tapping screws?

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před 13 dny

      Absolutely... a lot of builders use that method. I am more concerned that over time with the vibrations that the van experiences, the screws will loosen and a good bump will cause the adhesive to come loose, then you will have to do major repairs. I am confident, this build will not fall apart!

    The only hole I want in my van is the one I HAD TO MAKE to install a fan / AC unit. Extra holes ruin the resale of a CARGO van whenever the time comes to convert it back. It's refreshing to find someone who created a workable and practical solution instead of just drilling another hole in the van like everyone else does.

    I noticed that you cut through a stud. Do you not have to worry about putting a sill plate in when using rv windows? I have only ever done them in houses.

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před měsícem

      The window is close to the rear corner which has a substantial amount of aluminum, and the cabinet on the other side of the window also adds to any support needed. There is no load on the roof, so no pressure pushing down. The walls also add support as they are fastened to the frame members throughout. No sill plate needed

    where do you order the beauty ring and rain gutter from for the passenger door installation

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před 3 měsíci

      It actually came with the door as a set... You might give Vintage Technologies a call and see if they have a set they can sell. They deal with all kinds of parts, and it wouldn't surprise me if they had rings and gutters available

    You did an amazing job on this. I want to do this on my 2008 Dutchman T@B teardrop. Would the tape you used be sufficient on the trailer's gloss finish? I have seen others that used screws but that makes me very nervous.

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you! The tape will stick to any smooth surface that's nice and clean! I used the tape to basically hold the plate in place until I secured it with the trim and fasteners, holding up well!

    ایا میشود از پشم شیشه به مقدار لازم استفاده کرد؟ چرا که در کشور من به این عایق دسترسی ندارم

    This looks like one of the first professional looking jobs. I think at 13:50 if you would have also counter sunk the wood on the rivet nut side it would not have wobbled. My theory is that it is rocking back and forth on top of the rivet nut lips.

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you! I agree! I didn't think of that at the time... but you are correct, would probably not rock if countersunk on the back side!

    This is the best build I saw so far. But why you don't make it straight from bottom to top? Why the bend?

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you so much!! The bend in the walls keeps a little more room in the width, if I went with straight walls, I would have lost another 3". I think it looks better as well :) Thanks again!

    Do you need to replace one type of filter more often than the other? - Ro and Hybrid?

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman Před 3 měsíci

      The RO filter can last 600-800 gallons, while the hybrid filter can last 300-400 gallons, so you'll be changing the hybrid more often.
