In autocross, for the SCCA, there are different classes which are mostly cars. There is a class called KM which is a kart class for the RAW times. There is a term called PAX time which is a corrected time to "compete" against all classes though. In short, he is racing other karts if they are there, otherwise it will be for PAX time and fastest RAW time of the day which is always cool.

We run the Hero 11 Black and have the same exact issues. We've tried several different batteries and they all seem to overheat. I get lucky once in a while and it'll record an entire race. The only solution we have been able to think of is hooking the camera up to an external battery pack.

@@team12racing. I am going to try 1080p at 30fps without stabilization. Also, I am going to add a bit of paper towel on the battery door side of the battery to help keep pressure on the battery contacts. I feel like the vibration sometimes causes the battery to lose connection. It doesn't help that we are placing the camera on the discharge side of the radiator.

@@davidcarmendy5244 I’ve heard running it at 1080 will close to double the length so that’s a good idea. I used to have that same battery problem with the bumps but got a second battery and the contact was better and it never disconnected from the bumps. It’s really hit or miss. Look at my new video from this past weekend to see what it looks like without stabilization on the helmet cam. Gives a much better POV but may cause migraines! 😂

The cheapest option which provides “pack racing” like nascar would be the LO206 class. The 206 is the only 4 stroke motor that AMP has a class for. The 206 would be a great stepping stone from the rental karts. Other classes are available but are trickier to drive and cost much more money, with shifters being at the top of that list! Having driven the rentals, you’ll be positively surprised by the difference of a rental kart and a chassis you own at AMP!

@@team12racing. I've driven shifters before, I moved here from Florida and haven't been into karting since I was a teen. I have a small budget right now so yeah just looking for something simple I can have some fun with. Would love to be able to get a shifter or any 2 stroke really, hopefully I'll be able to do that eventually

@@HeavyK_MXB I’d recommend talking to some of the local racers down there on a race day, they’re all very welcoming and could give you some more information on what you could do. I’m from Pennsylvania so I’m not local at all, but I found a second family with the guys down at there at AMP. Just be careful, it’ll become an addiction very quickly! 😂

It was a cheap one I found on Amazon for like $15. It straps to the inside of your helmet and wraps around the chin. Good to use on practice days for a great view! If you look up Racing Helmet Chin Mount it should pop up. 👍

@@team12racing. Awesome. Yeah I wish they would allow for helmet mounts. The radiator mount/seat strut mount isn't as good.

​@@davidcarmendy5244 They say because of safety but i dont think it makes a difference from the safety perspective. Chin mount is the best for Motorsports. You drive good but sometimes you let the engine rev a little to high, and try to brake and Turning at the same time in the slow curves to be straight in the Apex so you accelerate early Sorry for bad english

After watching it back it looks like there wasn’t contact, most of him being loose through turn 2 was due to the tires. The race start is always tight with 20 people diving into a 2nd gear corner on lap 1 but a sensitive left foot kept my nose clear through T2 lol. Everyone bumper to bumper crossing their fingers to make it through!

This race was compiled of the Honda CR125, Vortex Rok Shifter, and the KZ motors, mostly the latter 2. The chassis vary from CRG (myself), Tony Kart, Compkart, Magik, etc… there’s a bunch. You can pretty much run anything!
