    As a Surgery JR ... What they told regarding JR ship is true ... Adding to that ... If you have done your MBBS through a private college or a college with less patient inflow ... JR ship will give you ample patient exposure and if you are in the branch which you are interested you'll get in hand experience too ... I've assisted in the OT 5 times more than I've in my entire 5.5 yrs of MBBS

      @@ahadpathan4271 After MRCS you will need to obtain GMC registration. After that you can apply for training/ non training jobs in the NHS.

    Indian candidates usually opt for England or Edinburgh Royal College for sitting for MRCS OSCE exam. Is there any difference in the exam pattern or evaluation criteria for Ireland Royal College that the candidates prefer the former over the latter? It would be really appreciated if you could shed some light on that. Thanks.

      @@rachitwadhawan99 MRCS is an Intercollegiate exam, hence there is no difference in the level of difficulty of the exam. The pattern and answers remain same for all the four Royal colleges.

    Hi doc , i have a qs if some1 did their mbbs or equivalent degree from russia like country which is of 6years can they directly attempt MRCS exam without FMGe exam of india, or do we need to complete our FMGe and intership in home country after than only one can sit in the exams like Usmle/mrcs/plab/Amc !? N the exams centre can be in our country or only in uk?

      @@Pk99562 If your primary medical qualification is recognised by GMC / Royal college then you are eligible to give the exam. You could do this by going onto the Royal college or GMC website.

      @@ahadpathan4271 MRCS is a diploma. After obtaining GMC, you can apply for jobs in the NHS. MRCS might be either an essential criteria/ desirable criteria while applying for jobs.

      @@ahadpathan4271 After MRCS, GMC registration must be done. You can apply for training or non training jobs in the UK. Mostly ppl apply for non training jobs, gain NHS experience and then plan to apply for training jobs.

      @@manoopb6661 you will have to obtain GMC ( General Medical Council) registration. There is only GMC required to practice in the UK.

      Minimum requirement for MRCS eligibility is having a primary medical qualification certificate (e.g MBBS) No additional experience required.

      MRCS part A and part B syllabus includes general surgery and orthopaedics. There are FRCS exams for respective specialist subjects. For example FRCS (Plast)for plastic surgery.A candidate must meet a set of eligibility criteria to be able to sit the FRCS exam.

      Hello sudhanshu In your situation the answer depends on where you would like to settle. Post graduation in India is 3 years. It takes 8 years to complete training in the UK. So yeah, to recommend the best option for you I would need more information about your preferences and choices.
