Does the LCN 4040XP come with sex-bolts?

This is an excellent video for someone that has never installed a closer before. Our favorite closers are the LCN's. The first thing we do when we open the box is throw away the templates. They take more time than simply measuring and marking. We install 4040's in less than 10 minutes. Closers are the money makers.

We have the LCN 2010-3034. Where can I find the instructions for replacing the track roller. We purchased the replacement track roller but do not know how to remove the old one. The allen screw seems to be pretty chewed up.

I think that you have it facing the wrong direction. The spring tensioner should face the hinge.

This door closers sucks. This is the worst one I've ever installed and it doesn't even work. I have installed plenty of other brands but this is the only one that wouldn't work

One thing that they forgot to add. A relay for electric strikes and electric latch retraction exit devices. That's a problem because, in my building, the restroom door is fire rated. So, it uses a lockset. So, I will have to use an electric strike on my restroom door. This device doesn't have a relay for an electric strike. I hope LCN has a solution for doors that have latch bolts and electric strikes.

LCN is the best. LCN door closers is all I use in my business. In fact, my adoptive sister got me an LCN 4040XP door closer with a metal cover as a gift to replace the old original Cal-Royal closer that was slamming the door. My adoptive sister got me a replacement one which is an LCN 4040XP with a metal cover. I installed it on my garage entry door (my garage entry door is fire rated) at my house and it has worked perfectly ever since. LCN rocks! I hope LCN keeps up the good work!

Will this actuate upon manual open of the door? I.E. pulling or pushing open the door?

Teaching ignorant idiots to kick doors is not a good thing. I am not convinced one bit when I see stupidity and delinquents used to demonstrate the quality of a product. What I am interested is how the actual door closer is installed on a left had door.

Can I install the closet with the valve body backwards gracing the hinges to change the swing of the door? In other words if I have a left hand closer can I reverse it to use it on a right hand door?

My door pulls to the interior. Is there any way to mount this on the interior? If not, is there a similar product that will like the 70 series?

The 4040XP is I think the best closer from LCN. However, I would recommend the metal cover. That's what I have on the garage entry door in my house is the LCN 4040XP closer with the metal cover. My garage entry door is fire rated and had spring hinges which slammed the door and rattled my nerves (the springs of the hinges are relaxed and abandoned and function as conventional hinges) and the 4040XP was my upgrade and I love it.

How long would you say this installation process would take?

So im kind of training at the moment and we have to install a bunch of these I a few days. My boss is having me watch these videos instead of training me properly and I need hands on to actually understand but thes videos seem to only show 1 way to install this thing.

You should make the 4111 LH and RH universal and charge more for your closers and people will but less but you'll get more prissy and waste less resources and can pay your people more when people screw up and eat a closer and send at least one self tapper with every closer, people take the extra screws and when you come back to do a punch you burn up your own drill bits you buy

7:07 Unfortunately, the installer Jeff makes a major mistake here. He preloads the unit first, which is correct, but you then should put the arm on parallel to the door so when you release the wrench, the arm will be pushing against the door, almost in it's final position, but it will be under tension. This is called "preloading". But he moves the arm around, unable to find the hole, then finally swings it right out to the same angle as the wrench and puts it on there! Now when he lets go the wrench and the whole arm swings back to its original position, undoing the preloaded tension he had just created. This is covered quite clearly in the 4040XP instructions. The purpose of preloading is so the arm will have enough tension to pull the door shut, even over the last 2 or 3 inches of travel.
