The story formats may be a lot simpler for fan films compared to mainstream franchises. But that can make fan films all the more fascinating. They need to drop the constant use of first names. Star trek has ranks and last names (and the occasional professional nick-name like Bones). The use of "yeoman", "ensign", "lieutenant" and "captain' needs to be preserved to keep to the original culture. Other than that, a pretty nice job.
