    Tim's sermon and little booklet on the Freedom of self-forgetfulness is amazing! Kind of hard to find the video, maybe because satan doesn't want us finding it? He knows he'll lose some of the power he has. But worth the search and the little booklet is easy to find and purchase. Thank you Tim Keller!

    The Holy Spirit is using this sermon to change my life...I am beyond grateful. In the opening Mr. Keller refers to the Scriptures on stewardship as being in 1 Corinthians 8 and 9...he was close...those stewardship passages are actually found in 2 Corinthians 8 and 9.

    So good - helps us all to get to real Christian living, where we're actually changed. 1) Make sure you really apprehend the gospel. 2) Know the particular flesh idols that tend to guide you at any one time. 3)Hold on to the gospel as the overarching thing you look to.

    All those years of study all these years of study by Keller and he still doesn’t realize we are no longer called “sinner”. It’s over. We are seated with Christ in the heavenliess. No sinner can sit there.

      1 Tim 1:14-15 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Looks like Paul himself said he is a sinner and a saint. Your comment is lacking the full counsel of God’s Word

  • @gladtidings6020
    @gladtidings6020 Před rokem

    This is error. The Christian is never called evil in the epistles. They are called saints, holy, beloved of God. This is our identity, period! The “old man” is dead with Christ’s crucifixtion. Raised with him to new life. We just need to acknowledge this and reckon the old man DEAD. This is our calling.

    This is the best sermon ever on sin, self centeredness of human being with Romans 7 and Jekyll and Hyde literature that I’ve ever heard!!! I should come back to this every so often… and I want to share this even with non Christians. We, Christians all believe that we are pretty good or at least trying and we deserve to be blessed by God… self righteous, anger, anxiety, condescending mind all there…

    • @zach2980

      @@2musiclover534 Tim believed that believers and nonbelievers are born evil. But that few are chosen, however most of these equally “evil” people are predestined to hell. How is this not sick and toxic? I consider it nonsense because it makes no sense in light of a proclaimed Omni God. I consider it sick and toxic because I think that a parent that views their children as ultimately evil are themselves sick and suffering from a toxic concept. Any parent that could save all their children, but chose to create them whilst knowing they never would but proceeded to create them anyway is the epitome of evil.

And came upon the group Petra...and listened to some familiar and non-familiar songs...and noticed in the play list: Jekyll and Hyde. And also: Augustine's Pears. I mean. What? Love the God-incidences. Learning from you what you want us to apprehend. Thanks so much.
