Thank you very much for sharing this deeply insightful and inspiring talk!
Thank you so much for sharing this amazing talk!
Tim's sermon and little booklet on the Freedom of self-forgetfulness is amazing! Kind of hard to find the video, maybe because satan doesn't want us finding it? He knows he'll lose some of the power he has. But worth the search and the little booklet is easy to find and purchase. Thank you Tim Keller!
The Ending of that Sermon brought me to TEARS!!! To THINK That JESUS Left HIS THROWN for ME, so that I could BE WITH HIM..IS SO MIND BLOWING!!! THANK YOU, JESUS!!!
This is so simple yet so profound and revolutionary. What a sermon!
So thankful for the life and teachings of Tim Keller.
Brilliant message. ‘Don’t think less of yourself, just think of yourself less.’
I love this sermon I have downloaded it to my phone
The Holy Spirit is using this sermon to change my life...I am beyond grateful. In the opening Mr. Keller refers to the Scriptures on stewardship as being in 1 Corinthians 8 and 9...he was close...those stewardship passages are actually found in 2 Corinthians 8 and 9.
The truth in this teaching blows your mind. So valuable legacy, thank you God.
This is such a fantastic sermon! It is better than 99 percent of the Ted talks and other pop psychology about why we have the problems we have. Just such a wonderful message.
Everything is downstream of Christ.
May God raise up another titan like Tim.
Radical grace!🙌🏽
Remarkable teaching! Christ covering our hideousness is a gut wrenching thought. 😞
😮 TC by b n😊😊😊
Thank you so much for sharing this message both part 1 & 2. TK mines so many precious gems that I would never ever see on my own. His preaching enlarges my love and gratitude for what God has done for me in Jesus. My appreciation for God grows when I listen. And I hope it never stops growing.
An amazing man to share the world of God. So grateful he existed, rest in the arms of the lord Tim thank you for your work
Any sermon series without the analysis of sin within it, for me is Not the Gospel. It is counterfeit. Thank you Tim.
Amazing insight into such a difficult & complex subject! He made it simple as it rightly ought to be. God used Tim Keller in mighty ways for His name & glory. 💟
Thus has moved me soo much
You speak of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde; I have been using Dr. Bruce Banner and The Hulk.
Bet
So good - helps us all to get to real Christian living, where we're actually changed. 1) Make sure you really apprehend the gospel. 2) Know the particular flesh idols that tend to guide you at any one time. 3)Hold on to the gospel as the overarching thing you look to.
This message has shifted my entire perspective about the Gospel. I'm extremely convicted yet incredibly hopeful.
Same.
This is wake up call for all people who work to save themselves to make themselves feel better.
The word never tells you check the idols of your heart. It invotes you to turn from the darkness to the beauty and warmth of the light.
All those years of study all these years of study by Keller and he still doesn’t realize we are no longer called “sinner”. It’s over. We are seated with Christ in the heavenliess. No sinner can sit there.
1 Tim 1:14-15 And the grace of our Lord was exceedingly abundant, with faith and love which are in Christ Jesus. This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief. Looks like Paul himself said he is a sinner and a saint. Your comment is lacking the full counsel of God’s Word
This is error. The Christian is never called evil in the epistles. They are called saints, holy, beloved of God. This is our identity, period! The “old man” is dead with Christ’s crucifixtion. Raised with him to new life. We just need to acknowledge this and reckon the old man DEAD. This is our calling.
His point about the motivation of sinful behaviors is good
Wow! A sermon on my pride. Tim Keller was a brilliant man. I will save this sermon and when I’m my puffed up self, I will listen again.
Timmy thank you so much 😊
Who is that Tierguard(?) that he quoted at 10:20 minutes?
Søren Kierkegaard
Søren Kierkegaard
This is the best sermon ever on sin, self centeredness of human being with Romans 7 and Jekyll and Hyde literature that I’ve ever heard!!! I should come back to this every so often… and I want to share this even with non Christians. We, Christians all believe that we are pretty good or at least trying and we deserve to be blessed by God… self righteous, anger, anxiety, condescending mind all there…
What a bunch of of toxic nonsense. Using that story of the family that lost their 3 children is low.
John 3:16
Zach. Can you kindly articulate specifics of why it is toxic nonsense? I found this sermon immensely helpful and would be helped if i missed something. Thanks.
@@2musiclover534 Tim believed that believers and nonbelievers are born evil. But that few are chosen, however most of these equally “evil” people are predestined to hell. How is this not sick and toxic? I consider it nonsense because it makes no sense in light of a proclaimed Omni God. I consider it sick and toxic because I think that a parent that views their children as ultimately evil are themselves sick and suffering from a toxic concept. Any parent that could save all their children, but chose to create them whilst knowing they never would but proceeded to create them anyway is the epitome of evil.
@zach2980 You oviously have experienced deep pain in life. Atheism is hopless. Jesus is eternal hope.
@@user-ch4ex3yy4l what would you consider hoping for something that doesn’t exist?
Algum brasileiro aí sendo abençoado por essa preciosidade?

I have a lot of sermon on 'giving', but never in this way. Thank you God for your servant Timothy Keller and your powerful words.
Getting behind the presenting issues to find the real truth......about me ! Oh how I need you Lord .
9 comments! LORD, I pray You will draw more people to this channel! 🙏 in Jesus' name! Amen
This right here is 🔥
"comparing my act of goodwill with the lazy cruelty of their neglect [of goodwill]" - this captures the heart of it.
Dr Keller really explains the deep questions I have about my walk with Christ, and shows me how much I don’t know. Thank you
Nitty gritty bits of being a Christian. Thank you for shedding light on our personal idols.
Praise God

This is so true
Amen!
Thanks Pastor Keller...and those helping to get this posted.
So then...I was looking up a worship song coming to mind (The Lord liveth and blessed be my rock...) And came upon the group Petra...and listened to some familiar and non-familiar songs...and noticed in the play list: Jekyll and Hyde. And also: Augustine's Pears. I mean. What? Love the God-incidences. Learning from you what you want us to apprehend. Thanks so much.
Tim Keller you are a false prophet
