Jean passed away around white people that loved him.. his father and all his black friends was never around.. they were around only when he was healthy and alive..they gave him smokes and all kind of toxic stuff. Who were the closest people to Jean? His white girlfriend, white best friend Andy Warhol and his friends, etc. When Andy passed away (his white friend).. Basquiat felt like his world ended, like he has nobody anymore. Bottomline is this: there were bad people around Jean from black and white race but there were white best friends too. I'm happy that racism everyday is less and lessen a world.. thank you, JESUS. One day there won't be racism at all, screw racism. Moses from Bible was married to a beautiful black lady, so is King Solomon from Bible. There's such thing as bad people but not bad race, ask JESUS. Hugging you, my friend.

I give Steve Martin credit for making efforts to learn about and appreciate fine art. The problem here is that Fischl simply doesn't deserve Martin's attention. So I have to conclude that Martin still has a lot to learn to know how to avoid and weed out the fakers and poseurs. Just because artists like Fischl have public recognition and I suppose successful careers, does not mean they are any good or deserve attention from serious collectors. I find Fischl's paintings just atrocious and amateurish.

Thanks a lot. I totally agree. It seems like life is just a job or task to be done, with goals and agendas, tools and methods to achieve those goals. And we're convinced that we have to be trained to live and be what we already are. That's insanely strange.

It’s about placement of subject, arrangement of colors, experimental mark making, and feeling. He evolved fine art and invented a way of painting that during his time was non existent and these are the things that makes his work enjoyable for me
