    Hello Mr. Alwitry. I realize this video is now 3 years old and ask if your experience is still positive and if there are any negatives.. I am a +6.25 in both eyes with cataracts and slight astigmatism. Would that prevent me from Eyhance IOL? Apparently I have no macular or other limitations. I have worn glasses since age 2. Strabysmus surgery at age 7. I am 72 y/o and wear progressive eyeglasses. I am very demanding of the sharpest vision and worked with loupes as a dentist. I am convinced that MF dysphotopsias and related reduced/compromised visual acuity are a no go for me. Even should I combine 1 basic monofocal J&J DCB00 (or the toric ZCB00) with the extended monofocal Eyhance ICB00, what concerns me is that as mentioned in this thread, the Eyhance IOL geometry might make it difficult to have the most accurate progressive lenses made after surgery. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and sharing your experience.

    What approach do I need to take to get answers to my questions or confusion around both the results and the logistics of cataract surgery? It seems I created an impossible problem for everyone involved because of prism and astigmatism. I got distance lenses, and I'm not unhappy about the result without glasses, but I still need glasses to work (computer -- all day) and to drive at night (unless all this new glare I'm experiencing is not correctable with glasses). The glare thing...before cataract surgery, I was told the glare I saw was because of the cataracts. Now, after, the glare is so. much. worse. And the same doctor is telling me, oh, that's because you have these new, clear lenses. Does that even make sense? I would pay for someone to just shoot me straight on this. (Yeah, I'm a little irritated as I type this. Sorry.)

    I put such crystals. I was very dissatisfied with the quality of the lens. I am 40 years I have no complaints against the doctors. For 65+, a good option is possible. But for those who are younger, it is better to install at least Symfony and Synergy. With Eyhance you will suffer greatly with far vision or wear glasses. It's a pity that the lenses are put in actually only once in a lifetime (only in super emergency cases you can change them).

    I'm a 56 year old man. I had cataract surgery about six weeks ago in my right eye. I guess my cataract wasn't too severe, as I could still see, while wearing contact lenses, but it just always looked like there was a haze of smoke hanging in the air. As I said, I wore multi-focal contact lenses. Well, I still do in the left eye until I have that cataract taken care of as well, but so far I've only gotten the right eye done. Now I'm not so sure I want to even risk having the left eye done. I for one am VERY disappointed in the results after the right eye surgery. I no longer wanted to be dependent on classes or contacts so I went with the Clearview SBL-3 premium lens, so even with my two forms of insurance, it still cost me over $4,000 just for the one eye. Yet my vision is now worse than before I had the surgery, and it's as if there's still this haze of smoke hanging in the air. I'm both heartbroken and pissed off about it. Twice I've been back to see the ophthalmologist who performed the surgery and both times he told me everything looks perfectly normal, and I just need to give it time. How much time? From what I've read of most people's experiences, six weeks is more than enough time that my vision should be pretty good by now. I can't begin to express how incredibly disappointed I am.

    Another misrepresentation of J&J Eyhance. Any enhancement of intermediate or close up is gained at the cost of distance vision. Then some surgeons seem to have unrealistic brand loyalty that ends up telling the patient, "trust me, this is best for you" bullshit without ever disclosing even the correction factor or "glossing over it". If you are in Aviation or drive , you need to start with the best distance vision and not compromise the possibility of halos and dazel from headlights and wet roads. If you need glasses to read, then don't expect IOL's to remove that requirement.

    • @amaralwitry3684
      @amaralwitry3684 Před rokem

      The whole point of these lenses are that they preserve distance vision and give some degree of intermediate vision without any compromise. Your comments are 100% correct when talking about EDOF, multifocal or bifocal intraocular lenses but these lenses are good. As a clinician we never tell patients what is best for them, we simply give all the available information and then the patient makes an informed choice.

      There is no real “best” lens. Nothing is as good as nature. Definitely do not go for a lens that has any rings on it. These are called diffractive multifocals. You will get glare with them at night but most people do adapt to them. Your best bet is a monofocal toric lens or a toric premium monofocal. I’m always cautious about “perfect” vision. There are so many factors that can mean your vision is not perfect without specs but usually with appropriate spectacle correction you can achieve perfect vision. We try, and massive emphasis on try, to get your vision perfect without specs but the calculations we do for lens powers are bot 100% accurate and the way your cornea responds and changes shape in response to our incisions. I think the ICB00 lens is great and most, again emphasis on most, patients do really well with it.
