We were going to stay there over July 4th this year, but ended up switching to Saratoga Springs because we've stayed there before and liked it. Still haven't stayed at OKW yet - probably will some day soon - but not in a rush.

Just sat through an owners update down at Westin Desert Villas in Palm Springs. The sales rep told us that MVC was going to sunset the Abound access for Vistana owners and we (Vistana owners) would need to trade in our flex options and buy, at a minimum, 4000 MVC points. I essentially said “fine”, we’re content with all the Vistana properties. The sales pitch wrapped up and we left with our Bonvoy points for sitting through it. My understanding was that Abound wasn’t a temporary program and this was a “scare” tactic to get us to drop a lot of money. Anyone else hearing this pitch?

I stayed at Westgate Lakes Resort and Spa in Orlando July 2024. I had a 3 bed 3 bath lockout. I got it on Interval as a getaway and loved the resort. I had a great time, the unit was huge, loved the pool and waterpark. I did decline the timeshare presentation but I don't have anything bad to say about the resort. I stayed at Westgate Town Center years ago and loved my stay there as well.

I love and prefer old key west, even though boardwalk is our home resort.

Yes, the resort wants you to use points most to buy cruises, dinners, etc. The resort buys these in a balk like package from the vendor and sells it to you at a premium price, but it's presented in points. They make money from the arbitrage obviously. The maintenance fees are still to be paid to the HOA, so now you're paying maintenance fees on points that aren't used for lodging.

Hi Jeremy. I noticed that you went up some stairs to get to the boardwalk and then down to get to the beach. Is there a wheelchair accessible path to the beach? We made reservations for our first stay there, but now I'm worried we won't even be able to get to the water. Thank you.

Recently attended a mvc and asked “what if I want to go to the Ritz Carlton in Vail. He brought up the screen and showed how easy it would be. He did mention it would depend on when. I said the winter of course. He simply laughed and changed the subject.

Question: So if you buy in the after market or resale market are you better off? Also, if you inherit units and points, you’re basically just saddled with the maintenance fees?

We’ve had issues in Florida with rooms smelling moldy and mildewy…. Did your room have that musty smell at all? (My wife is very mold sensitive)

My husband and I recently purchased HGVC through a presentation we went back in March. At first we had a little buyers remorse yet more we study, more we love it!! Discovering your channel and Timeshare Traveler channel were a big game changer for us! We would like to thank you both. It turned out we had a great deal, much better than buying from resale market. We got a lot of Hilton honor points and HGVC Bonus points. We are looking forward to travel around the world and with in the US! As a matter of fact, we have two upcoming travel plans using HGVC for this holiday season.

From what I seen, doing a timeshare is more expensive than just doing a vaction on your own.

I think Old Key West is the only DVC property with a true in-unit laundry room. A great amenity!

Very nice like all Disney products (Timeshare and hotels), in and around Disney World. But the biggest issue...... Disney is not shy in their attempts to pry money out of you. Even on the re-sale market, the product is pricey with the "Magic returning every year" with the high maintenance fees. While I like all Disney products, the pricing is a major put off to me as there is quality competition available re-sale at much lower pricing such as Marriott or Hilton.

With all due respect, it was a good video - but it would have been a little better if you mentioned theories or reasons why, you think the market is depressed. Has anything changed recently, in the past year? I know the cost to "activate" the points into the system is outrageous.

I have been an owner since 1987. I love it. I inherited additional points from my father. Boy was it awkward getting the deed transfered and getting Wyndham on board! They assumed I bought the points in the re sale market. They have a difficulty recognizing purchases in the re sale market. I finally got it sorted out at a presentation meeting. It was very annoying!

I have had hgv for a few years now and realizing its not worth what i paid. Obviously past recission window. My question is could i upgrade to a larger package, then wait a week or so and just rescind that contract to get out?

People are hating on timeshares, which is weird because if you use it, it eventually pays for itself and then you start saving a lot of money, again “if you use it “if you don’t then it’s a waste of money, pretty simple don’t just listen to people that don’t use it

I just went on Saturday I was given $125 on the card my $40 back in cash, free uber (which in needed at the time to go to a concert right after the timeshare was finished) and the 2 night 3 day stay

I once stayed at a timeshare because a friend had one in Arkansas and couldn't make it before a deadline. The only dates available were in the winter. The property was a 5 on a scale of 1 to 10. Everything was unimpressive. I would never go again.

Do many on the TUG forums own Westgate?

We were approached at Westin Laguna Mar in Cancun because we own two weeks in St Kitts. One of the scams is called Sapphire Travel Access. We were told it had a $1000 value. NO ! It gives you a sort of credit up to $1000 in theory for use only at Marriott Hotels, and supposedly 10 to 50 % discount. Every time I tried to use this, they didn't reply or gave me a rate which turned out to be higher than for example a seniors' rate. I never was able to use it. The Sapphire is only valid for one year from date of issue. We did get some Bonvoy points but not a big number. We were told the presentation would take 45 minutes but it was over 2 hours with 2 different people pushing us. They seemed very surprised when at the end we simply refused to buy anything. We gave reasons well in advance to inform them we had a new house, pets, and health issues but they just ignored it. I could write a book about all the lies I've been told by MVC since I bought in St Kitts in 2006. The maintenance fees have soared to the maximum every year. Do NOT buy MVC timeshares unless you want mine LOL.

I am back at Sheraton Vistana Resort through II getaways. When I booked on II, it says 1BR full kitchen. When i arrived to my room, they placed me in Cascades in the smaller 1 bedroom unit. The manager then argued with me that II placed me in the smaller bedroom based on the code and its not something they can see at the resort. I am very disgruntled because i thought I was going to the traditional 1 bedroom this room is the size of a studio. How can i tell on II the difference between the smaller and premium 1 bedroom? I would have never paid for this room had i know what i was getting. Is it possible that the resort has made a mistake? Though both the manager and the front desk staff talked to me as if I was crazy. The woman rudely asked me what makes me think i booked a premium one bedroom? Help 😢

After I stopped laughing, I noted some errors on the criminals part..... If they bought re-sale, the amount would have been so much lower and possibly nobody would notice. As usual, people cannot control their greed and that is what does them in. Also, what was their plan to pay the very high annual maintenance fee's ($18,000)?
